Can any video pros explain to me what the new Retina Display is that Apple is touting on the iPhone 4? Is it revolutionary or is it Steve Jobs marketing?

Thanks,

Its pixel density is double of the existing iPhone (with the same physical screen size). The new one is 326ppi and the previous 3GS is 163ppi. Basically 960 x 640 (greater than the Nexus One), impressive but not sure if it's game changer for such a small screen since I'm not too excited in such high quality for a small device (from streaming and/or storage limitations), IMO.

However, Apple is claiming a substantial improvement in Contrast Ratio vs the existing screens.. lets see when released...

The best feature may be viewing angle due to Apple now using IPS in the new small screen....

It sure is pretty...
