Panasonic FULL HD 3D Professional Plasma

Thread Starter
There were a couple of people here at AVS whom showed interest in the professional/commercial display with 3D technology. It looks like now Panasonic has launched a series of FULL HD 3D Professional Plasma Displays, with the 152" as the main attraction, and smaller sizes of 103" and 85". No smaller sizes it appears at the present time. Looks like they are intended for large Home Cinema, Amusement Facilities and Business presentations.

One website article said it will cost $50,000, and another article said it will be $500,000. I'm going to go with the $50K price since the 85 incher is going for around $25K.

Given the enormous increase in screen area (220%), between 85 inches and 152 inches, the 4K resolution (4096 X 2160), the difficulty of manufacturing and shipping a panel of this size, I suspect that a MSRP of $500,000 is more likely. The panel weighs over 1,300 pounds.

I would expect shipping, and set-up to run over $7,500, about the price of two 65VT25's

Though another way to look at it is that if the price is half-a-million dollars, shipping may very well be included.

LMAO!

I can see it now:

MSRP: $500,000 (with FREE Super-Saver Shipping)

Will there be a power buy on the $500,000 plasma?
Put me down for one of the 152" plasmas.

Seriously though, that's one hell of a TV, 3D plus a 4K resolution. Dayum.

Has anyone found out if Panny's pro monitors will be hit by the black level bug as well?
The 152" MSRP is indeed $500K. It was shown at Infocomm10 two weeks ago in Las Vegas. They also have private demonstration of the TH-85VX200 and TH-103VX200 prototypes. They are saying an October ship date for the VX200s but no pricing yet. I asked the Panasonic guy and he said that these have similar technology to the VT25s.

Does anyone know when the smaller 3D professional plasmas will be available?
Hmm...I just noticed that Panasonic's flash presentation lists the aspect ratio of the 152" display as 17:9 (and the dimensions and resolution seem to support this). Doesn't seem too significant, but I wonder why they deviated from the standard 16:9 ratio?

Make sure you get the 24 month free financing with that!

That linked article says $45,000 for the 85 incher. Damn. I would have bought it at $15,000.
The 152" requires an external IR emitter for 3D and no where did i see that it was included. I also wonder what the warranty on something like this is.

How do the smaller professional sets (58" 65") usually compare to the regular ones in terms of price?
I don't want to be the one to get a service call on one of these...
I was hoping for a non-3D professional 65 inch that does not have floating blacks but costs about the same as the VT25. Looks like that is unlikely now. I am sure I will end up buying the VT-25 before they announce the smaller sizes.

On June 9, 2010, Panasonic unveiled a 152 inches (390 cm) 3D-capable TV (the largest so far) that will go on sale within 2010. The TV, which is the size of about 9 50-inch TVs, will cost more than 50 million yen (about $576,000 US)
