Some routers and modems do have a separate "reset". Yours might and then again might not. Some of the routers, the reset is done through a tiny orifice usually in the back with a small pin or needle.

Not sure how these are relevant. An EX which is a series below; the HX92*, that are full-array and a completely different panel tech?

OK,as in my previous post i was pointing out early cloudy hx800s.Then i picked the 2 most talked about models, recent models that seem to have respective flaws. So i was merely pointing out early models eg:hx800/900 ,bar screen uniformity on 800 seem to be more reliable.TBH wether any1 thinks its relevant thats their opinion, but certainly worth pointing out imo. PS,i realise i was late posting here, but what you might find relative or not,it doesn't mean i feel a certain point is not relative to any situation regarding this thread.I like a few here i suppose, bought an 46hx800,which gives me the right to post an opinion which could be relative to my mind, wether its imformative or just a thought, subjective or objective. Regards.

Folks maybe you guys have seen flatpanels.com review.Theres a good calibration piece thereabouts,Ive been using them on custom-mode as recommended for my BD/DVD(on standard-mode).The white balance control seem like the only genuine WB control along with avs,i cud dig up.: green gain -7 & blue gain -4,rest at zero, seems to give a stable set-up along with the rest of the calibration.Still haggling over 3D settings. The 3d OOB seem natural while pre greyscale colour which is almost spot-on,according to HDTV TEST & Digital versus.uk. just turn backlight down a bit on custom,if its too bright but thats about it for 3D settings (yea right, well hope so).

hi, new to this 46HX800. needed to get a TV and research led me to this model due to very
low power consumption. cnet had it rated the lowest watts at almost 1/2 every other 46 led/lcd.
http://reviews.cnet.com/green-tech/t...ain;contentAux
I thought it was good with the 240 Hz and never really intended to use the 3D but
wanted the capability to be available.

what I did not check is the eyeglasses issue. is it ready and do I need just glasses or
do I need to buy a plug in transmitter for the glasses?
when I get a chance I will get back and read the full 53 pages.......
thanks

So far I've used a photo lense towel or my glasses towel. Sometimes w/ a little water dabbed on, although I found that leaves streaks. I did a quick thread search a saw a post on using LCD screen cleaner. Would that be the same or similar to glasses cleaning spray? And if not, would using glasses cleaning spay be harmful to the screen. I know Sony reccomends just using water, but am curious as to what others do.

Thanks in Advance for any advice. Enjoy the exta day off ya'll!

Okay thanks for pointing that out...But the question remains unanswered.

Is it possible to upgrade to the latest version while by-passing all those in-between? I'd appreciate if anyone could answer this quickly. Thanks.

The 3D glasses are incrediby sensitive to rotation. If you tilt you head even the slightest to either side, ghosting is increased a lot. I wonder why Sony decided to make it so sensitive to rotation.

Do some research and you'll find that there is a reason and solution(if you desire) for this.

You could help the guy out a bit and provide a link. Then others would learn from the experience and follow the line of thought right to a logical conclusion.

Never been a big fan of "google it" answers myself. Kind of like setting someone up to jump through a bunch of hoops when the answer is right on the tip of your tongue anyways.

Enlighten the class.

Sony sent (me and others) thin overlay lenses that make viewing a tiny bit dimmer but the rotation effect is reduced.

If you go back a few months on this thread you will find rotation discussion. Try post #1543 in January. You call Sony customer support, tell them of your "issue' and they are supposed to offer you free lenses for your glasses. The link to a Sony document is http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/m...00%20218092660 Note the paragraph at the bottom about the lenses.

I had 5 minutes of fame when Sony support mistakenly sent me four sets of glasses instead of lenses. I called a second time to get the lenses. I called a third time to find out how to return the four sets of glasses. They said to keep them. I sold them, two at a time, to people on this forum for half price thinking I would buy a PS3 for my granddaughters and me. To make thinks easy, I mailed the glasses and when the buyers saw them, they mailed me cash. The grandaughters were not interested in a PS3 so I used the money for a Panasonic HDC-SDT750 3D camcorder. This weekend we are planning to make slow motion 3D video of a hummingbird to watch on the 55 inch Sony.

Thank you for the information. I have just send at request to Sony. I hope for a positive reply.

FWIW - my 55HX800 is showing software version PKG4.107AAT . No obvious changes that I can see so far

got some 3D glasses an the TX. it looks pretty good. this is what my set is running at,
so I run this at the best power saving level....now to get use to it.
the set is at a condo and my sister will have use of it while I'm away. here she has Comcast HD
box with the component outputs. too cheap to buy a HDMI. hahaha
since this was a showroom model "set up by SONY" I will pass on what they had though I made
some minor adjustments to suit my taste......remember I am color blind.....
ECO:
power saving; high
idle TV standby; 4 hours
auto shut off; on

SCENE select; general

AMBIENT sensor; on

Picture adjustments: (note started off with reset)
picture mode; vivid
backlight is max and not adjustable
picture; 89
brightness; 57
color; 51........note some ball games it is set at 46 due to grass blooming green.
hue; 0
color temp; cool
sharpness; 23-24
noise reduction; high
mpeg noise reduction; off
motion flow; standard
cinemotion; off

you might try it as it does look very good on almost all channels I have used.
I did watch avatar on HBO and could see some pixelation....maybe from 1080i.
I did not see any pixelation using my Panasonic BR player through HDMI #4 viewing in the general mode.
I have tried the settings first listed here, in the cinema mode but always go back to the general one.
I have adjusted the brightness a bit to suit the room daytime side lighting better.
to the low 60's

Well TBH i got the 2nd generation tdg-br250s & its still sensitive to your head leaning left/right/up & down, but not as bad as the first batch of specs from what i can gather. But still not a solution & these 2nd batch of glasses should have been IMO.But i reckon for any1 used to wearing glasses it would be annoying not being able to lie down, whereas, folks who dont,i dont think it matters much.Just an opinion....

In the past I played Black Ops in 3D and it worked. The other day when I tried 3D with Resistance 3 I wasn't able to get it to work. I don't know if it was the game or the TV but I'll try out Black Ops again to see if the TV (the 3D update) is the cause.
