I love that they tried to address this major plot stupidity with dialog..
"How did you get her number"
"A girl has to have her secrets".

OOOOOOOhhhhhhh, secrets. Got it. That answers everything.

She might as well have said "I reconfigured our orbital spy satelites to trace the tachyon signature through subspace".

Women are often cold even in the most mildest temperatures. It is one of the craziest mysteries of life.

A simple solution would be to check to see who Augie's has called recently.

Also... of all people on this show... Augie should know how to get a phone number.

A better question... would have been... how did Annie know he was with a stewardess at all?

She heard him meet someone on the plane... but I'm not sure she heard enough to know it was a stewardess. Maybe she did... and if so, then there were likely less than 5 on that plane... so it would be easy (especially if any were male or really old) to narrow it down to the one with Augie.

The whole scene on the plane was a set-up for the phone call later.
Augie was talking to Annie as the flight attendant was flirting with Augie and telling him it was her job to find a place that his luggage fit.

Annie's "secrets" comment seemed more like a nod to Auggie, who always seem to know what Annie is going to do, that she has skills too.
Since Augie has a reputation as a bit of a hound dog, that has been referred to several times, it makes it an easy step for us to follow.

As for the actual number, probably the easiest way is to find which attendant's cell GPS is in the same location as Auggie's.

Next thing you know is that you people will start to see all the flaws in falling skys.

I don't take the USA shows to seriously, so I let stuff like this slide.

First off...tacky.
Not seen on the iTunes 720p Web DL version.... thankfully

And this is one show you can never take seriously, because the whole premise violates a bazillion rules about CIA not operatiing on US soil with US citizens. Her getting in the way of an FBI investigation was a perfect example.

anyone see the summer finale? i liked it a lot, especially that bathroom scene
post #163 of 375
I thought they would finally make the smart decision to dump the sister storyline from the show. I just changed the station every time she came on the screen at one point during the episode. That whole storyline is a real anchor around the show.

I liked the Covert Affairs' summer finale a lot, too. Of course, just having a chance to watch the luscious Piper Perabo is usually enough for me. I also agree with you that the scene in the men's room in which Arthur gave the arrogant state department guy a lesson in humility was wonderful.

Until this week's episode of Covert Affairs I, too, thought the scenes involving Annie's sister were pretty bad. This week, though, the sister was mad and edgy after Annie revealed that she was a spy. Nobody plays mad and edgy better that Anne Dudek. If the showrunners are going to keep the sister around, I hope they don't go back to portraying her as a hapless doofus. Not only has that been bad dramatically, Dudek isn't convincing in such a role.

Now that Annie is moving out, I think we'll see a lot less, or nothing, of her sister...
they seem to be clearing the way for the inevitable annie/auggie relationship. there's no way in hell she'll ever have a relationship outside of the CIA.

Annie needs to get a gun.

I'm not so sure about this. When Sydney lost all her "friends" on Alias, she was left with agency contacts only. I, and others, thought the show had lost a human dimension. I fear the same thing might happen to Covert Affairs. Of course, Will and Francie were better liked than Danielle.

Was that the first time "sh*t" was used in this show? That kind of jumped out at me.
I was glad to see they wrote her sister realistically in terms of reaction... she over-reacts, then dials back and still is rational enough to realize that she didn't over-react as much as Annie probably thought.

Risking your sister and her young kids without even telling them you are in the CIA is a bad thing for Annie to have been doing all that time.

I know CIA people have families... but even risking your own kids is a different animal than risking someone else's kids without their knowledge.

The sister is smart to insist Annie live elsewhere. There have been at least 2 times the CIA had to sweep the whole premises.. once for bugs, this time for radiation.
I'm just wondering why they brought up the, "I cut my arm on the gate", and it was bleeding. Thru the rest of the episode, I was thinking (since, she shook the "Bad Radiation Guy's" hand) that she would have had contaminated herself. Guess not!

So she had an excuse to meet up with Dr Scott.... and have "the talk" with him.

Certainly seems they're setting up the Annie/Auggie relationship by clearing out all the other emotional ties for Annie (sister gone, BF gone).

And what's going on with Jai? ... he gets reassigned to Arizona- then a mysterious phone call with "we gotta talk"??? Was he calling his father?

Looking forward to next season... nice that Piper Perabo got herself a steady TV gig. Now if someone could just find some quality weekly TV for Jessica Alba....

I agree that it's nice the beautiful and talented Piper Perabo has a successful TV gig. She and the show were made for each other.

as far as i remember, but i thought it was appropriate for arthur to use there... USA in general using that word a lot more... they use it all the time on suits now. trying to be more edgy? i don't mind it...

I'm a big Dark Angel fan too...
I actually even double dipped and bought the UK DVD Dark Angel season sets just to get the widescreen versions of both seasons.

But, like bobby94928 mentioned... it's been off the air for 9 years now- and IMO it hasn't really aged well unlike it's star who actually looks better at 30 then she did at 20.

I thought the finale was above average. The season really started going downhill though. I hope they don't have Augie and Annie start dating.

Except I don't think Perabo passes for mid-twenties at all. Her legs look every inch the mid-thirties she really is.
