How much time was supposed to have elapsed between last week's, and this week's episodes?

They never said... and it's tough... Sounds like she had major internal damage from the gunshots... but was running and all fairly easily... but then straining was popping stitches and causing her to bleed.

I had a semi-major surgery and after a week my stitched entry points were healed beyond the popping stage... though I know round gunshot wounds should take longer to heal.

I think they were nebulous on purpose so that we couldn't nitpick it to death smile.gif

If memory serves, the bullet damaged one of the ventricles of the heart. If so little time had passed that she was able to tear open the hole in her chest and start bleeding again, I have to believe her injury to the heart should have popped open again in all that exertion .

/\ /\ /\ /\ My thoughts also.

I was just glad that she blew Lena away.

If they thought that by being nebulous about the timing would prevent us from nitpicking it to death, they don't know us too well, do they?

True... that's one of the reasons why such plots are risky on serialized TV... we are watching every week, so you can't help but think about some of these things. And while we suspend disbelief for some things, other things aren't quite so easy to ignore.

They would have been much better off to have not had that line about the internal damage... it was too specific... without that, we could rationalize that she just lost a lot of blood but otherwise didn't have any major internal damage... thus she could be weak and tear open a wound but not be in danger of heart failure.

It's a minor nit... but one the writers unnecessarily put into the mix.

DON'T FORGET!

New episode tonight (10/16), and the next 3-6 weeks!

Enjoyed the rescue!

Wondered what happened to Joan after she took the pill and went of the grid? Otherwise really enjoyed the show.

Enjoyed last night's episode...
Seems CIA/DPD and Mossad are at a cross purpose with Annie caught in the middle! .... again!

I liked the episode also, but maybe I missed an episode. Annie and Eyal were on a cargo plane trying to sneak out of Russia, and the Russians opened the plane door to capture them. That ended the episode. At the start this week, Annie was in Virginia. Seems like they forgot to show the second escape.

You didn't miss an episode, but you may have missed the very end of the episode. After the interrogator caught up to them at the plane, they negotiated/traded with him for their own release.

Thanks, I totally missed that. I probably shut it off too early.

Clearly Annie has never actually fired that Rhino revolver she was carrying. If she did while holding it the was she was, she'd burn the hell out of her thumbs.

Hey thanks for ID'ing that gun!
Wow... never saw a piece like that before. According to google- it's a 357 Magnum..

I think this is their best season. Maybe getting her sister out of the plot lines helped. And I'm thinking the upcoming episodes with Auggie will be fun. This show has gotten better.

+1
According to the credits- P.P. has been an Executive Producer this season - I'm hoping that has something to do the better quality of the episodes.
I would love to see a two hour episode...

I agree the show has been getting better. I liked the characters originally anyway, but the stories weren't as compelling early on..

I don't think "getting rid of the sister" was the problem, though. They surely could have included the sister in some of this season's plots and made the part compelling, though constantly endangering the young kids probably would pose a problem...

Primarily, I think they just changed gears and went with more intelligent and engaging plots this season... things became more complicated and more involved... and they started to do a little more believable spy work than in the early episodes.

Annie's back (and looking fine BTW)... Season 4 started Tuesday 7/16.

Good first episode- guess we're going to see a lot of Henry Wilcox (Jay's father) this season, looks like he's really trying to force Arthur out!

We should keep a travel log of this seasons destinations...

Episode 1: Columbia
Jay's Father is President Weasel from 24...

I agree that Annie is looking fine this season. It was also fun to see more of Gregory Itzin as the odious Henry Wilcox. Nobody does a better job that Itzin of playing characters we love to hate,

I still keep wondering if Jay faked his death to go super undercover... there was definitely something fishy about his final meeting there before the car bomb. I keep thinking he will surface at some point to straighten things out.

Sendhil Ramamurthy (Jay Wilcox) has a recurring role on Beauty and the Beast. See this link about his return next season. I don't think we'll see him again on Covert Affairs.

I enjoyed the season opener. Still wondering if Auggie will get his eyesight back. I'd like to see Annie and Auggie in the field together more regularly.

Annie (Piper Perabo) had a recurring role last season on "Go On" and also was in the movie "Looper"... so I'm not sure Sendhil couldn't come back for a few episodes of Covert Affairs at some point if he wanted.

They could always use him in flashback episodes too....

I just started watching this on Amazon Prime a few days ago. I really like it. It's not as well produced as Alias, but I never really watched that when it was on. I can tell Doug Liman is the executive producer. I'm glad to see Piper starring in her own series. She's a smart chick, talented enough, and is drop dead gorgeous. I'll watch more.

It gets better as it goes. The last season was MUCH better than the first. They pretty much axed the irritating B story about her sister's family, and just went for a straight action spy show. That gave them time to do more interesting and complex stories.
This show is becoming more and more like the good parts of Alias. I really enjoyed Alias, but they went a little off the rails with some of that magic Rimbaldi artifact stuff... I still like the show, but it could have been so much better IF they cut back a little and kept it a semi-realistic espionage show.

Covert Affairs seems to be doing that... morphing into a solid espionage show and maintaining real-world legitimacy most of the time.

Last season P.P. was listed as "Executive Producer", I noticed on the new season credits she's now listed as "Producer"!
Congrats to P.P., keep up the good work.

That's probably more of a contractual title than an actual job description. It's a common renegotiating move for television stars to get an honorary title in lieu of more money per episode.
