Help. My PS3 suddenly stopped working with my Samsung HLN617W. I had it connected via HDMI to DVI cable for 2 1/2 years, no problem. It just stopped working. Funny thing is my DirecTV box works fine wtih the same cable and so does my Panasonic DVD player. I bought a new HDMI cable and HDMI to DVI adapter but that didn't work. The PS3 will work with the Samsung via composite as well as component, however the component only works when plugged in to the lower quality (480p) and not the higher quality (720p/1080i). Sony tells me that I need to send in the unit, for $190 they'll fix it but here's the thing- it works HDMI to HDMI and on my computer monitor which is DVI. Just not on my Samsung DVI. Also, get this...I moved my Sony BDP S350Blu Ray player to my Samsung TV so I could at least watch movies and it does the same thing. It won't even let me choose HDMI, it's grayed out. I know the DVI is HDCP compliant. It says so in the manual plus it worked for 2 1/2 years. Could a DVI port on a TV go bad and only not work with one particular manufacturer? What the world is going on?
