How do I Eliminate interference on a wireless Remote Extender?

I just bought THIS remote control extender and so far, it's working great. I use it for my cable box so I don't have to rent two boxes. But yesterday, the cable box was changing channels by itself. Since I live in an apartment, I have a slight hunch that someone else in my building has the same thing for the same cable box. So, I may be getting interfered.

I tried moving the antenna and I seem to still be getting interfered by this guy. I even tried pushing the antenna all the way down to weaken it's reception and I still get interfered.

This wireless remote extender uses RF frequency and probably all of them use the same frequency. So, this other guy is using the same frequency as me and is also using the same cable box. The guy stole my idea, lol.

Anyways....is there anyway to avoid this interference? Maybe perhaps a way to weaken the signal enough so my receiver doesn't receive the guy's frequency?

Which review? I didn't see anyone else with the same issue.

Oh darn! That's a bit expensive. I got the Terk one mentioned on my original post for only $20. I guess the phrase "you get what you pay for" applies here. Heh!

Yeah, the comment was me. I saw that after I asked you for the review. I figured that was probably the review you were referring to.

I think he's also getting interferences as well. It doesn't make sense why the receiver would make up an IR signal, let alone one that your device would recognize.

The other day I decided to extend the antenna on the receiver just for the heck of it and so far, everything seems to be ok. No interference for two days. But I may be talking too fast because my lovely neighbor(s) may not be using their cable box, so that's why there's no interference. So I'm thinking it's just a coincidence because I don't see why extending an antenna will weaken the RF signal from someone else's apartment. But who knows? Maybe I did fix the problem. Heh! I'll observe for the next couple of weeks and see how it goes.

So far, ever since I moved the antenna, it's been working great. No more random channel changing for over 5 days now. Heh! Weird! I wonder why extending the antenna would help.

Are there any non-wireless remote extenders? I don't mind running a long cable from the living room to the bedroom. It's not that far.
