iPhone App

Thread Starter
Just wanted to mention that this is a great app! Job well done.
Glad you like it. Please give it a rating on iTunes if you have a chance.

Note just in case... Ver 1.1.5 was released yesterday.

Why do I keep losing subscribed threads since I dl this app? Is this something they are working on to resolve.
Hi...

From the developer...

"The edit post issue and thread subscription count issues have been (hopefully) fixed in the most recent version of the plug-in that was installed today. If you still see issues, please let me know."

That was posted yesterday.

Do you guys plan on offering an iPad version....the graphics are pretty rough when you resize it.

Thanks

The iPad version is ready pending Apple approval.

It will be version 2.0 and will fully support iPhone and iPad.

The iPhone app is pretty cool. But one problem I have is that when I click on a multi-page thread, it always takes me to the very last post on the last page.

If that post is at the very bottom of the page, then it takes a LOT of scrolling upwards to get to an option that takes me to the first post in the first page.

Is there an easier way to get to the first post in the first page?
It should take you to the area of the thread based on your last visit time.
Also, no need to scroll up, just tap the top of the iPhone like any other web page.

Look inside your iPhone SETTINGS icon. You will find a settings area for AVSFroum. In their you will find what you are looking for and some other things. (It was mentioned on the notes screen when you first launch the app.) Also info located inside the HELP page.

Take care.

I really love the iPhone app and can't wait for the iPad app!
Is there a way to see the whole thread title for long titles? Otherwise, love the app.
Rotating to horizontal will help, but I don't believe the thread titles are allowed to span more than one line.
Just a heads up... the new version of the app is out and it has full native iPad support!

Get the update NOW! The iPad mode is amazing!!

The text and graphics are not pixelated anymore on the iPad!

Neither app will allow me to log in due to my ID having the ™ at the end. Is there a way you guys can add that character to the allowed characters. Thanks.

I would suggest submitting this to the support forum to ensure the development team knows about it:

I will, thanks.

The latest version of this app is bit of disaster for me. Whenever I look at my list of subscribed threads the the "new article" blue dots blink on and off a couple of times and stay off. When I visit the thread I always go to the last article. Not being able to see which threads have unread articles and jump to the first unread post makes it pretty useless to me. Hope a fix is in the works.

There are similar bug reports in the AVS News thread that we've asked folks to post to the development team:

Well the new version is out and still useless to me. Reading a message in one subscribed thread marks all my threads as completely read. I hate it that something so useful comes along and completely changes how I access the forums, then breaks like this. A major disappointment that has resulted in me missing tons of messages and frankly giving up on regularly checking the forums.

Any method to search within a thread via iPhone app? Other forum apps have this feature and would make this app even more effective
post #23 of 41
Not that I remember, but the development team is always updating the app.
Is there any way to go to the AVS homepage via the iPhone App? I swear I was able to do this initially but I can't figure out how to get out of the forums.
There are no links to the home page in the app that I'm aware of.

Hey, I inadvertently found the link to the homepage through the iPod app. It's not very direct, but if you go to the AVS classified ads in the app, it sends you to the website version of AVS. Just click on the AVS logo at the top of the page and you're on the homepage.

Is anyone out there successfully using version 1.5.2 of this app on an ipad or iphone?
The update broke the app for me on all my devices. There are comments about the same problem on the app page in apple's app store but I don't see any thread running here.

Any info or workarounds would be much appreciated.

I'd like to point out that although I haven't upgraded to the latest iPhone app, I had the exact same problems as the upgraders are complaining about; failure to connect, blank screen, etc. It looks like the problem was not with the new version. Rebooting the phone seemed to fix it, probably a coincidence. Is everyone afraid to update now?

Is there any way to load the retro skin from within the app?
