I stream HDTracks FLAC files to my 3311 from my LG NAS without any trouble. They play at the high bit rate without difficulty and sound fantastic. I am so glad this receiver handles these files without breaking a sweat!

Cheers,
NM

I tried to rip Dvd-Audio files using 'DVD AUDIO EXTRACTOR' to a hard drive in surround flac format. The files won't play correctly. either they just play for a few seconds or they just skip a lot. Am I having trouble because they are 5.1 channel?
yes, I don't think the streaming supports multich hi-rez audio, only 2ch.

I have polk RtiA7's as my side speakers. After running the auto set up, it had my fronts and sides listed as small (Fronts ate RTIA9's).

When I go under the manual set up to change them to large, it will let me change the front one, but not the side speakers.

1. Is there a way to change the side speakers to large as well?
2.Shold they be set to large. They have crossovers to roll off the lower notes.
Keep them all at small. That is the correct setting and you should not change it.

Ditto, I've been doing the same since I purchased the 3311 about a year ago, and it plays the higher bit rate FLACs streamed from my networked multimedia drive flawlessly!

Ok I don't know how to set an internet channel to my "favorites" list. Has this changed since the last update? When I have a internet channel up that I want to save to my favorites, I press "memory" and it says "not available set party mode". I'm having a brain fart, how do you set an internet channel a my favorites list?

I was just going to post the same question. It would be great if someone could tell us how to save radio stations to the Favorites folder! Thanks.

See page 35 of the 3311 owner's manual, and be sure to follow all three steps.

Hello everyone I received a AVR-3311ci last week to replace my Yamaha RX-V2095 and I have a few questions. First I have a Nintendo Wii that I have connected directly to my TV. Is there any way I can connected it to the ARV and then have the video sent to the TV Via HDMI? The Wii is Component cable only.

Second, I can't figure out for the life of me how to custom program the quick select buttons under the volume knob. How is this done? I keep getting lost in the onscreen programing menu.

Thanks,
Jason.

^^
Yes, the 3311CI will upconvert the Wii component video signal to HDMI. You can either use the default source names COMP1 (DVD) or COMP2 (SAT/CBL) or assign the input to another source name. The Video Convert (ON) and i/p Scaler (Analog) default to the proper settings so if you use either the DVD or SAT/CBL source names it should be plug-n-play. Plug the audio cable into the same labeled source name you decide to use as they are not assignable (eg. if you plug into COMP1(DVD) and use the DVD source name then plug the analog cables into the DVD analog source jacks).

For the Quick Selects buttons ... after your various settings are made, simply press/hold the QS button for 3-4 secs for it to re-memorize the new settings.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try this this evening.

Jason.

Hey guys,
Just finished running audyssey on my 5.1 set up and i want to change the crossovers of my speakers, i want to set the fronts (DT BP8060'S) To 40hz along with the center. The surrounds i want to set them up at 60hz, but i can't figure out how to do it? I go to manual set up> speaker set up> crossover frequency than i believe it's setting all the speakers at 40hz Am i doing something wrong here or can you not set independent frequency to each speaker?

I definitely recommend reading batpig's Audyssey guide. I posted a couple of questions on the Ausyssey thread yesterday and I would not have had to do that if I had read batpig's guide! He had already answered all the questions that I had posted. I'm going to read it a few more times between now and the weekend and then spend a few hours tweaking my system using his guide! Way to go batpig!

I'll give you a hint

You are asking a question about crossovers..... So you should look in the setup guide where I explain how to set crossovers

My receiver keeps going to a black screen randomly, with Sat and BluRay. Sometimes it will flash the input (HDMI 1) and sometimes it doesn't. Each time it cuts out it lasts about 1-2 seconds. Has anyone experianced this/know a solution?

Just read everything again and got it thanks. Now I have to figure out why my SVS pb13 ultra sounds like its barely on :-/
post #8934 of 10201
Probably because you set your crossovers to 40hz. Raise it up and let that big bad sub do the dirty work down low.

I sent mine in to Panurgy 4 times for that same problem (5 if I count the local Denon repair center). It got worse as you can see in the video below. They replaced the HDMI board, but the same problem persisted. I kept sending it in, they would say it was to Denon specs, and return the same unit back to me.

Now I have a $1,000 paperweight which Denon refuses to replace and blames it on my "environment". Even though it worked fine for 6 months and nothing in my "environment" has changed. I believe this problem will only get worse over time with other owners units because it's not an out-of-the-box problem, but one that surfaces after a few months

If you purchased it with a credit card, and you haven't already contacted them, contact the card provider as they may have an extended warranty plan that will replace it for you.
That's a thought, thanks JD.
What's really annoying though is Denon's way of handling this. I even said, that if they would replace this receiver, with anything; refurb, old stock etc. I don't care, as long as it's not the same exact unit, and I still have the same problems I'll move on to another brand. But it falls on deaf ears.
^^
It's hard to justify replacing it if they cannot reproduce the issue you're having. At that point, it's generally better to bring in the credit card company for possible replacement or refund.

I'm gonna try them on 60hz and 80hz and see what happens. All the speakers are set to small. Thanks again man.

I recently decided to use my Denon 3311Ci as a pre-pro to drive my B&W speakers. I had an old B&K amp (Reference 7270) that I thought I could use to drive the speakers. So I've connected the pre-outs on the Denon to the inputs on the amp using RCA cables, and used a trigger out from the Denon to the trigger in on the B&K. I believe that I've hooked up everything correctly because I have no problem getting audio (or video for that matter). But whenever I turn on my system, I hear a loud pop which I never used to hear before hooking up the amp. Although the pop is not very loud, I'm worried that over time it may damage the B&W speakers. I've tried disconnecting the trigger but that did not resolve the problem. But when I turn down the input controls at the back of the amp, the pop is not as loud anymore. But I feel that by turning down the input controls, I'm also not using the full potential of the amp.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could eliminate the popping sound I am hearing? Do I need to ditch the B&K amp and try a different amp. The Emotiva XPA-5 appears to be on sale right now and I could try one for 30 days to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for your help.
