OK - then I would recommend the Panasonic BDT300. It will output 3D BD in the checkerboard format which your TV requires. Plus it has two HDMI outputs which can be configured as one for 3D video - attaches directly to the TV and the other as HD audio only which would attach to your receiver.

The XpanD X102's will with no additional hardware. They work with the comm DLP-Link which your TV provides automatically. For the X103's you will need an Infra Red emitter.

OK - yes - you can use a single HDMI cable but you need the Panasonic 3D BD player because it it the only 3D BD player that will output 3D BD in checkerboard.

He may be also able to find the Panasonic DMP-BDT350 online for cheaper than getting the DMP-BDT300 from Best Buy. I am pretty sure the 350 does everything the 300 model does and maybe a little more.

DLNA, thats about it.

I have the Panny 350 3D player. Yes, it can be found online cheaper than BB sells the 300 for. And, yes, it offers DLNA, which the 300 does not. Since you have the Onkyo 608 ( Yes, I have IT, too ) you won't need both HDMI outputs, as the 608 handles 3D video.

I ended up getting a PS3 for my 54VT25. I figured there is no 3d blurays out there right now, so I will wait for the firmware update. In the meantime, I can enjoy some 3d gaming!

Another happy PS3 customer. Just imagine how many more would sell if they output checkerboard.

I'm a happy PS3 customer even if it doesn't output checkerboard (I have 2 in fact). I own two sets that need checkerboard to do 3D even.

Even with the PS3, there is no way around the HD audio issue is there since there is only 1 HDMI output? I don't really want to buy a new receiver to accommodate 3d output and I have a ps3 already. I guess I'll be forced to buy a 3d blu ray player regardless right?

You are correct, which is why I just picked up the Panasonic DMP-BDT350. It outputs checkerboard, and has a 2nd HDMI out for those of us with 1.3 AVRs.

6ave.com has a name your own price sale right now, and you might be able to get a real good deal on the 350 if you want it now.
