Newbie seeking advice regarding amplifiers

I am in the process of completing my home theatre and I am still deciding which amplifier to get. My top two choice are NAD's T 747 and Pioneer's VSX-1020. I just bought the cinema package of Q Acoustics for my 5.1 speakers.

Which between the two would you recommend? Or can you recommend other reliable amps?

Thank you to all who will reply.

Yes. Receiver. Sorry.

Of those two my choice would be the NAD easily over the 1020. At least its specs are right on. If it has everything you want and need get it while you can.

Thanks guys,

I will be using it mainly for movies (blu ray and dvd's) and musi (CD and Ipod). My speakers has nominal impedance of 6 ohms and minimal impedance of 4 ohms. A USB for ipod would be nice. I am hoping to get a full HD projector too next year.

I am happy to spend $1000.

You may want to also consider the Onkyo 1007. It can be had in your price range. More power, connectivity, networkable, and a bevy of other things.

I'd say Denon 1610 would be fine for you. The Pioneer will also be fine. The NAD will work but it's overpriced, IMO.
