Hi Hummer5 and others,
Long time reader, first post ever on forum (blind is no joke)
My SC-37 has similar Starting H.M.G. Please Wait... message when I select Home Media Gallery.
Problems all started after the first HMG firmware upgrade I did using the IP Network clientInterface.
I did not realize until about 6 months after upgrading the Firmware that HMG was no longer working, as I cannot spend much time without help of a sighted person.
SC-37 in DHCP mode receives a new IP address from router, shows up on client table on my router's interface and on SC-37 Network Setup.
SC-37 does not accept entry of manual IP address and gets stuck when saving manual IP address.
Sc-37 no longer shows up in iControlAV iPhone App, app is now useless.
I search the Internet, found other users with similar HMG Starting Please Wait message, including for SC-LX83 equivalent model.
I downloaded the SC-37 Service Manual and went through it (former Electronic engineer student)
All problems seems to be related with the integrated Bridgeco DM850 chip, used to provide Internet Radio. The Broadcom Network chip used is able to get DHCP IP address, receiver is able to display it, but the Bridgeco chip and its services just won't start, therefore not providing IP Network interface and iPhone iControlAV support.
Service Manual states if there is a problem with the Bridgeco DM850 chip to replace main digital assembly as this 208 pin chip is soldered on the board.
Went through a factory reset, no luck
Other SC-37 user had their main digital assembly replaced for this and other reasons and part is often back ordered on Pioneer's website.
I just don't want to take it to a service center and wait weeks/months for replacement, even if no charg )we have 3 years on Elite in Canada) and afraid replacement will do more harm than good.
I can't believe there isn't a way to wake up /re-flash/reset this DM850 chip!
USB port works ok with keyboard, iPhone 3gs, USB key, it is just the Networking functions, Internet Radio, HMG and IcontrolAV that is not working,
Bluetooth is OK with AS-BT100.
So, Hummer5, get ready for a main board replacement, if all other stuff is OK of course!
I hope this very long post can help others, or other users will chime in to provide valuable input!
Meanwhile, I use my Oppo's BDP-93 Network services...No problems...
Thanks and good luck!
