I have searched the threads for someone else having a similar issue, but have not found anything that I consider exactly the same yet....
I have a Samsung LNT3232HX/XAA for a few years now. TV has been great until about a year ago, and a "smudge" started showing up on the right side of the screen. At first I just would deal with it, but over the last year, it has gotten much worse. See my attached pic and you should be able to see what I mean. You will see a long vertical smudge a few inches from the right side, and there has now developed a small smudge spot at the top-middle of the screen that you can also see in the pic.
A few things...
-I brightened up the TV to get the smudge to show up better on camera. The TV is not usually that bright, but I just couldn't get a good pic with it set how I normally watch it.
-The smudge is easiest to see on solid backgrounds. Shows up if the screen is black, white, grey, red, blue, etc.
-If TV is off, I can't see it.
-No known hits/damage to TV. TV is actually up high on the wall and pretty out of the way.
-TV did not have these smudges (that I could notice) until after about 1-1/2 years. They have just finally become so bad, that it is actually distracting.
-I can turn the backlight/contrast down to make it go away some, but then the TV is unwatchable due to the screen being too dark.
Any ideas/help/etc?
