Maybe change your password?

You can activate your PSN on 5 systems. Right now you just lost 1 out of 5 since it wasn't deactivated before it was stolen. You can still use your PSN on a new system; HOWEVER, you need to change your password immediately.

But you should still call Sony to deactivate the account on that machine...

I would guess the answer will be found here: http://us.playstation.com/psn/

Sign-in and see what you can do. It would be pretty sweet if you could lock up the console remotely from there. But at least go ahead and change your password right away. That way he won't be able to sign in as you. Although I imagine the first thing he'll be trying to do is wipe your account off and create his own account, or he'll just wipe it clean of accounts and sell it, or more likely, he'll just sell it for $20 and some crystal meth... You should be able to salvage that classic Jersey Shore screenname by just changing your password though.

Since they stole your laptop don't forget to change your passwords for all of your email & social networking accounts also.

Even more importantly, don't forget about your credit card and bank accounts. If you accessed those online and saved the passwords as cookies then the thief can access those accounts. So think carefully about what you accessed with that laptop and then change the password for every account.

This probably isn't as important as changing the password for your Facebook account, but you might want to change the passwords for any online banking accounts you have too.

Hey, you edited your post to add on my suggestions about online banking accounts. Now it misleadingly makes my previous post look confused. Damn you.

Ahhh, gonna get 'em to sign up for extended purchase protection at Best Buy for all those new electronics, eh? Good call. Maybe you could work in a recommendation that they have them installed by the Geek Squad. That will have them spending the big bucks.

Something tells me this post will be used in court after your innocent victim sues you for breaking out all the windows and lights in their car.

Have fun! Don't foregt the ski mask!

I know this is a CRAZY idea, but instead of turning all renegade on someone's a$$, how about just letting the cops in on your hunch.

Make sure not to use any sort of debit/credit card at any hardware stores only cash. You don't wanna leave a paper trail

That might be worth the effort in Mayberry RFD, but in major cities (I live in San Diego), police only follow up on violent crimes. I had a used car I bought from someone who lived near me stolen less than 48 hours after I bought it. I figured it had to be someone the seller knew (if not the seller himself). Would the police follow up? Not a chance. They didn't even come out to take a report—they took it over the phone.

I also live in San Diego and the cops came out to take a report when my car got broken into. Crimes should always be reported, if not just to document the incident. But ya...never expect to get anything back.

OK. I'll give you that. I live in Atlanta, by the way. I guess I was just trying to caution our weird new poster that maybe he didn't want to take an aluminum T-ball bat to someone he isn't sure stole his stuff...or even if he was sure.

Though I got to say, if you told the police you were certain you knew who had stolen your goods, something tells me they'd have to follow up somehow.

Why not? Its fun extracting revenge and if its the wrong person he might have been guilty of doing something bad sometime.

They'd follow up by stopping at Dunkin Donuts and getting a coffee and a dozen to go

Aluminum bat is better, it will only dent not break when you hit them with it. Unlike a wooden bat

Wow. Cynicism at its highest. I've never had to call the cops before...good clean livin', you know...but I know they'd have to respond in some way to your suspicions.

I bet they can at least log what items were taken, and hopefully get their serial numbers -- there may be a record of them if you registered them on the manufacturer website, or something. This can help a lot if any item were to show up at a local pawn shop.

If you changed your passwords then they wouldn't be able to log in using your account. So I'm not sure why you're asking the question.
