Onkyo TX-SR508 and ATI 5450 with Windows 7 media center

I also posted this in the audio section because I simply don't know if this is an issue with m receiver or my video card.

When running HDMI from my windows 7 media center (1gb ATI 5450 card) to my SR508, the video appears normal until I launch media center. The screen blanks for a brief moment, then media center loads. About 10-15 seconds later, media center crashes with an error message stating that color depth must be 32 bit. I've checked before and after the crash, and the color depth is 32bit. If I bypass the receiver and plug directly into my TV, it works flawlessly.

Have you tried different driver versions?

I did try different driver versions. I've tried the drivers from Sapphire, as well as the drivers from AMD/ATI. Both have the same issue.

OK, here is some more (albeit strange) information -

The problem does not happen *IF* I have a live LogMeIn session. (This issue was occurring prior to installing logmein, so I don't think logmein caused it).

Is your Onkyo's HDMI set to "pass-through", if it isn't I would try that.

Interesting. My problem is the exact opposite. I have an Onkyo Tx-SR803 and Windows Media Center works great when running it through the receiver but I get the 32-bit color error when I bypass the receiver and do a direct connect to the TV. My receiver is in the shop and that is how I discovered the problem.

I am running an ATI Radeon 2400 HD with the latest drivers. It plays just fine through Windows Media Player or other software, just not through WMC.
