Bright Projector for Open Space HT

Hi, I have been researching a projector for my outdoor area near the pool.
Most of the time it will be used from noon to 18:00 (usually during BBQs) and watching HD sports and bray movies.
I was thinking about using my Epson 1080p but i am afraid that is not bright enough. So question is, which projector under USD 2000 would suit my needs?

The Epson 705HD is one of the brightest 720P projectors out there. If that's not bright enough you may have to look into a full blown business projector.

The BenQ SP890 is a 1080P crossover unit with 3000 lumens in econo and 4000 in normal mode. The only problem with it is the price ..just above $3000.

There are a multitude of business projectors around that will suit your needs under the $2000 price range, many under $1000 if full HD isn't important. If you want 720P or 1080P then the selection gets much smaller!

The Benq MP670 is $800 and spec'd at 3200 lumens in brightest mode. Native resolution is 1024x 768.The big plus for it is being 3D capable.

Outdoors? Noon?

No projector to screen will work outdoors in bright sunlight - at least IMO and every PJ I've seen to date.

Projectors are for dim or dark venues - like movie theaters.

LOL, I agree, noon to 6 pm... Even if you bring out plasma TV's. It's not just brightness but also glare.... it would not work.... Unless you have a roof of some sort covering the area where the projector and especially the screen will be, then only MAYBE it will work...

Outdoors in sunlight or moderate shade, there is no projector capable of giving a good picture - certainly not one below $2k. An LED monitor might work if it was shaded from any bright light.
