PlayStation Plus (one sub supports Vita / PS3 / PS4) - Page 25

$18 used on Amazon, it's cheaper to just buy the DD version from the PSN, I think it was like $13 for PS+ members Tuesday. I kind of want to replay the full game with the move too.

Last week PS+ offered Bioshock 2 to members for free. This week they are adding Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition and one of my favorite PSN titles, Rochard.

After getting Quantum Conundrum last month, which seemed like a similar type of game, I didn't think there was any chance Sony would go back and offer the older Rochard game, whose demo I played some time ago and really liked. But then again, we're also getting a very old fighting game after getting the more recent King of Fighters XIII. I'll be deleting my untouched QC game to make room for Rochard this afternoon.

If "QC" is Quantum Conundrum, I definitely recommend you give it a try. Great little game. If you liked Portal, you'll like Quantum. The puzzles could benefit from a slight ramp in difficulty and they could have actually tried to make the jokes funny, but other than that it was an enjoyable experience.

I agree. QC is a good puzzle game, like Portal. It was a nice surprise free game last month

Thanks for the recommendations. I just didn't know when I'd ever get around to Quantum Conundrum, though I was glad it was offered as a freebie last month. Between my current RPG binge and all the Plus games, there never seems to be enough time.

The next early beta access perk for PS+ members is God of War: Ascension. We get in on the action January 8th.

So, none of the Vita PS plus freebies are expiring yet... I wonder if they will keep all those games active thru Xmas..

From the blog:
"Also, for those wondering, we do have PS Vita games on the way in December that will add to the already great library of content on PS Vita Plus. Watch for those to be announced in this space later this month."

Novermber 20 is when you got the games which was on a Tuesday so perhaps well get the new games on the 18th of this month. Knowing Sony, they probably wont announce what they are until a day prior which is the 17th. Knowing that it's before Christmas and the fact that they want to push more PS Vita sales, hopefully it'll probably be something good. As for games to get rid of, it wouldn't surprise me if Jet Set Radio goes. I wonder what are the chances, Sony would be willing to offer Little Big Planet Vita next. It sounds unrealistic since it's still a fairly new game although since Little Big Planet 2 is offered with the PS3, you never know. It would be a little funny if Sony offered All Stars Battle Royale for the PS Vita.

It will probably be a game that nobody cares about, like ModNation Racers. I think it would be cool if they gave out some PS1 classics. Like Abe's Odyssey or something like that..

My guess would be LBP.

They need to add something new for the Vita.
Any news on what we'll be getting this week?
Foosball 2012 and 75% off 13 games (including LBP Karting and Tiger Woods 13 to name a few)
Ok. I usually look for the weekly update on here.
Horrible update this week -- and it's not because Darksidets is so earth shatteringly awesome. The UK is getting much better titles.

What do you think is going to happen in regards to PS+ subscriptions when the PS4 hits ? Do you think it will automatically transfer over ? Will it buy anything for the PS4 owner ?

PS+ will simply continue to expand. It expanded to accommodate Vita, and it will do so for the PS4 while remaining in place for the PS3.

Yep, although I have to imagine its quite a few months before they start giving games away, otherwise why buy anything? I'm still hoping there's good BC support in the PS4, so all the stuff carries over. PS+ could thrive out of the gate for PS4 if they at least have something playable to give away. People can buy just the PS4 and still have 10ish older games to play on it for Xmas....it'd be pretty killer. If I can buy a PS4 and still carry over my plus freebies...I'm so sold on just that alone, day one.

Let's remember that besides the free-to-subscriber model that has generated the positive buzz for PS+, huge discounts that eventually pay for the subscription price for an average PSN gamer is a major benefit as well. Since the next gen should see an increase in the amount of digital content being offered, they might focus on digital discounts early on. Something like an across-the-board PSN 10% cut off of the retail MSRP price of any title that is also offered on the PSN would be good.

Also, access to the Gaikai streaming at a discount or for free would be interesting (i.e., if backwards compatibility is offered as a stream). And in the PS4 rumor thread, I theorized about the possibility of SteamBox compatibility (and the Steam store) being added to the PS4... as far-fetched as it may be, such an arrangement opens up PS+ opportunities as well for discounts and free dload support.

For instance, on launch day PS+ members could be given several SteamBox titles on day one since plenty are already made. Even if the titles are a year or two old and exist on the PS3, having a SteamBox version that runs at a faster frame rate, with better AA, and at a higher resolution compared to the PS3 version would be an attractive selling point.

Random speculation ended.

I just hope Sony continues to support the PS3 (with Plus and in other ways) for a while after the PS4 comes out. There's just no reason for me to buy a new system and games at launch-day prices when there's still plenty of content I have yet to touch on the PS3 (not including anything else that comes out in the next 12-18 months). After the PS4 has been out for a couple years, then I can grab a good Black Friday bundle and hopefully get a good PS4 instant game collection along with it.
That's what happened with PS2, and PSP sutff still comes out...
Yeah, discounts would be a good start. I still doubt I'll ever buy full games digital as long as physical media is around, unless its unequivocally cheaper than even used games, but it'll get me to choose their platform for the smaller digital only games. Especially if they manage transition of digital purchases from the PS3 to the PS4 well. Then I'll have faith that my digital purchases have lasting value going forward, even if I don't get the same joy out of a digital collection.

Well, there is always that possibility that you see some amazing game that just totally blows you away, and you can't imagine yourself not playing that game.

I'm as cheap as they come, and I have to admit that there is always the possibility that I see something that just knocks my socks off, and I can't help myself. For me, it's usually seeing a totally next-gen NBA 2K or Madden game or something. New consoles are the one time when Tiburon and Visual Concepts will actually be forced to make a totally new game engine from scratch. They normally just keep using the same old engine, just refining it slightly, and adding a few new bells and whistles. When new consoles come out, they have to throw all that into the trash and start over from scratch. There is always that possibility that we see something totally amazing. If you have no interest in sports games, well it could happen in another genre as well..

I don't really feel like spending 1 grand this November buying two HD consoles, but I'm not going to say it's an impossibility. I might see something so amazing, that I just can't help myself.
That's pretty much what I tell everyone when they tell me they're fine with their PS3. They haven't seen the reason to buy a PS4 yet. When you do, it ceases to be a rational decision, where you weigh costs and balances. You just have to have it, whatever the cost. Now.

Sometimes they can pull that off on launch day, sometimes it takes a year or two....but that moment always comes.

Keep in mind that we are likely 10-14 months from release. That's a ton of time to pass (and information to acquire) before purchasing decisions are made.
