Not bad if they really are adding stuff weekly to PS+ members. Couple that with the fact that it's confirmed that all PS3 users will have access to Hulu+ (after the initial PS+ preview period) and it's been a decent launch for the service.

EDIT: After doing the math I bit the bullet and signed up for PS+. Now that it seems like we'll get content and offers more often than once a month, it is something I think will pay for itself. I'm not even all that interested in some of the popular features like auto-patching, but it's nice to have I suppose. For me it comes down to cost savings more than anything, and perhaps a few cool betas.




It costs $3.33 a month, and by signing up I instantly saved on purchases I was going to make regardless. I'm already ahead of this month's savings quota: the Hamsterball discount, the free MahJong DLC and the Fat Princess DLC discount. I figure with other stuff down the line I'll come out ahead over the 15 months. If not, I won't sign up next time.

Also, I honestly don't mind supporting a decent service in part because Sony has not charged us to play games online, which is a concept I hate on principal alone. I like that my entire gaming catalog won't be ruined by not signing up again. Yes, I may lose access to a few "free" games (I can simply by them individually if that happens), but I'm not forced to subscribe to PS+ year after year with the threat of losing access to a major function of most of my entire library.

Yeah, I got the free extra three months and access to all of those other launch goodies. I think the deal will be available until the next full PS+ update comes in early August.

About the Hamsterball update, but I'll update the main post. It's one of the reasons I got PS+ last night since I loved me some Marble Madness back in the day.

Scanning through our save games would have just been too much work, huh?

Yeah, it works fine. For 2002.

Multiple competitors have already shown that patching can be done much better. Given that PS+ is the newest patching system on a major platform, I would expect it to at least try to match it's competitor's feature sets. Obviously "basic competence" is too much of me to expect from Sony, and there looks to be no shortage of people lining up to apologize for them.
