Sure, they're not Red Dead Redemption, but what is? Though I'll grant you there have been a few WTF? PSN titles thrown at us over the months along with those.

I was speaking more about the recent titles Foosball and Guardians of Middle Earth. I haven't tried Closure yet though.

Based on the two bot games I played, Guardians of Middle Earth actually seems like it could be decent, but I can't connect to any online games. I've tried every matchmaking option available, and it just forever tries to find a game with no success. If I can't play a real match, I consider it a bad game. I have no trouble playing online in other games, so it's not my connection.

Has anybody been able to get Maverick Hunter for their Vita yet ? When I click on it, it shows it at $9.99. I haven't tried via the PS3 yet.
It worked for me and I did it through the PS Vita. Basically the $9.99 is crossed out and it says free at the bottom.

What happened to the add to cart option on the PS Store? Now I can only download the free Plus games? I can't just add them to my cart, purchase them, and save them for later?

If this is the case, I guess I gotta do that hard drive swap that I have been putting off. frown.gif

yeah, they streamlined the 'buying' process for free games and demos. If you don't want to download it right away, just cancel the download once it starts. Or, grab your free stuff from the web store: http://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com

Thank you.

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't remember which page it's on.

Say you have a free month's trial for Plus and you buy something that is normally a charge but now is free because of Plus. What happens when your free month runs out again?
I'm sure I read that the game will stop working, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how the system would even know if you are still a Plus subscriber if you don't sign in.

Needless to say, I have a free month still to activate and I really want to get this game, but I just know $15 is a waste for it. Free though is another story. wink.gif

I believe if you triangle info your game download youll see a subscription with a final date of when your PSplus sub runs out. My guess is it gets updated when your sub gets updated.

You might be able to take the console offline and keep setting the date back, but ive never tried it. You'd also have to deal with that which would be a pain.

Ahh, didn't realize it kept a record of your sub date. Guess that makes sense.

While I think the $15 is too much for this game, I'm not that cheap that I'd go through all that nonsense just to keep playing for free.

At worst, I could try the game for a month and then decide if I really want to pay for it.

Thanks.

Stardust for $4.89 is a no brainer.

Hey, couple of questions:

1. I'm trying to "purchase" the download of Vanquish, but don't actually want to download the full 12 gigs right now. A couple of weeks ago, I had no problem putting these things into my cart and purchasing them, and then selecting "download later" or whatever. For some reason, when i try to do it now, it automatically just gives me the option of downloading it. I can't seem to avoid the download part... Anybody know what I'm doing wrong ?

2. Is there a way to put $5 into a PSN account ? Or does it have to go in, via increments of $20 ? I want to get Stardust for both my kids account, but don't want to put extra money in, or they will blow it on the Montezuma game..

I believe $5 is the minimum amount you can put in your wallet via credit card or PayPal.

You might want to wait until March 1 to make any purchases, however, due to next month's offer of getting $10 back when you spend $50: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/02/26/psn-march-savings-get-10-for-every-50-spent/
post #796 of 908
I haven't added funds through the PS3 lately, but online (sonyentertainmnetnetwork.com) the min value is $5. The options for amount to add look similar to the PS Store to me, but I don't remember exactly. Unless Anthony is talking about sub-accounts, which may be different.
I never add money in advance. If you wait until you are checking out you can add the exact amount of your purchase and never have extra $ in your wallet. This works as long as your purchase amount is at least $5

The promo period actually starts today. Guess I should've read the blog post I linked. rolleyes.gif

Starting February 26 and throughout the month of March, we’ll be offering you the chance to get $10 back for EVERY $50 you spend using your SEN Wallet! This means that if you spent $100 you’d receive $20 back at the end in April. Everything from games, movies and TV shows — anything that accepts SEN Wallet funds — is fair game. If you were thinking of subscribing to PlayStation Plus, now’s a great time to do it. Grab the 1-year membership for $49.99 to get the most of your PSN experience, plus a little extra cash back

I guess they toss in that penny missing from the $49.99 PS+ subscription for free with this promo. 15 months for $40 is pretty awesome.

I'm glad I procrastinated on renewing. My Plus sub isn't up until July, but I'd be surprised if a better offer comes along before then. My only hesitation is not knowing what kind of benefits PS3 owners will continue to receive once the PS4 is released in terms of IGC ("free") games and discounts. I guess it's worth the risk because in the meantime (until I finally get a PS4) I'll be able to add any free PS4 games to my download list -- assuming they start offering some at launch.

Start the download, then go to the XMB, Network, Download progress (or something like that) and then press triangle over the download and select pause.

The best way is to buy online on the website, not on your console. Then the games are linked to your account and on your download queue on the PS3.

Surprise! PS+ to be a major part of Sony's PS4 plans:

Quote:
How do you see the PlayStation Plus service evolving over the next couple of years as PlayStation 4 enters the ecosystem?

Jim Ryan: We’re very happy with the service that we’ve been able to offer with PS Plus. It’s been really well received – the value is quite extraordinary and the take-up has trebled over the course of the past year. We definitely see that as a core part of the way forward. We’re not yet in a position to disclose our plans for the future of PlayStation Plus, but there will definitely be a prominent role to play for it in the PlayStation 4 landscape.
I still think the basic functions of the online will remain free. It's a major selling point for Sony, so I don't see why they would change it.

Today (Sunday) is your last chance to get 15 months of PS+ for $40 (the $10 credit comes to you in April).

The standard price is 12 months for $50. It's also a good chance to be set for the PS4 if you already have a sub that will expire near its launch date.

I wonder if our PSN accounts will carry over from PS3 to PS4.

Carried over to Vita, so I'm sure it will.

Agreed. If it weren't for the Vita, it'd be easier for the PS4 to have an entirely separate online service. But Sony has said the Vita will work with the PS4; what would that look like if the PS4 didn't use your existing PSN account? The Vita would need to support separate logins for the old PSN and the new online service. It's not impossible, but it'd definitely be weird.

I really hope my PS1 games transfer over to the PS4 thanks to this. They are the only Digital purchases I truly care about on my PS3...

Excellent update for Plus subs this month. The free games are

Spec Ops The Line
Disgaea 3 (vita)
Joe Danger 2
The Cave
Tekken 6 (vita)
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/03/04/playstation-plus-march-update-spec-ops-the-line-free-for-members/

And you still have time to grab the current offer of 3 extra months with a 1-year sub before the store updates tomorrow.

I'm so glad they've gone back to a monthly update format.
