Just got off the phone with someone else who sells the stuff and they said 352 including shipping to you and me. He also said he could do single tubes for 29.50. So either way will work for me. Just glad I dont have to buy a 12 pack minimum. Edited by chrapladm - 7/17/12 at 9:25pm
Ok, enough is enough. On account that David and Peter the Greek are determined to change my thread into a car boot sale and home shopping network, I feel compelled to post. Well, most of my work is done. House has new cladding, bathroom is finished, drywalling is completed, windows installed and front and rear tiling is all done. I have also been travelling for the part week in Broome in Western Australia. I need to do some sanding and painting and then I can get back to work in my room. Thanks guys for the welfare checks.... I am alive but life has been full on. Here are some photos.

Hey there Peter. Thanks for that. How is fatherhood treating you? Hope all is well with bubs. Work has been hectic. I'm off to xmas island at the end of august for six weeks. Trying to get the house done as much as possible before then. Feel guilty and a bit deflated for not getting the room done by now. But I'll get there. Don't want to rush the last bit. Thanks for the offer of the cleaner. I will look into it. Cheers mate. Greg.
What it you dingaling or someone else........... I was wanting to know how the HTTYD play went?.
Hi David. Yep it was me. I did enjoy the production but it wasn't worth the money. It was well done but went a little bit like a pantomime for my liking. I guess it would be hard to transfer the movie to the stage but ultimately I thought it was just ok. Thomas enjoyed it, but strangely the intermission came after over one hour and then there was only about 30 mins after the break. The long first half tested the concentration span of the young kids.
I am officially back. Its been quite a hiatus from theater building and I have been pretty busy. Work has had me offshore for almost two months and with all of the other renovations going on I have been snowed under. Today I managed about 3 to 4 hour's work in the room. All of my acoustic wall treatments are up and today I purchased and cut up some more 90x45mm untreated pine to frame up the screen surrounds for the fabricmate tracking. I will be painting the timbers in Matt black paint tomorrow and installing. Will also hopefully get most of the track up tomorrow so fabric wont be far off. Time permitting, I really want to finish off behind my screen wall. I have already made some basic speaker stands so it will be good to get my speakers properly situated. I gotta say it felt really good to be back in the room. Part of my hiatus was work and other projects but some was just taking a break and enjoying my room. I am really looking forward to getting closer to finishing up so that I can truly enjoy my finished theater. I will try to get some pics together tomorrow. Cheers all.
Hi Pete. its good to be home. How are things going with the bub? I imagine she has settled down a bit. Do you need any supertel for acoustic panels? I have a sheet or two left if you need some. And the tan is washing off fast. Gotta catch up soon.
Hi Will. I have been following your build... just awesome mate. You should be really proud of your craftsmanship. I bet you're happy with the room. I will try to get some snaps taken. Good to hear from you. Btw you gotta get "the avengers" on bd. Awesome LFE and 7.1 to boot.
All good here - mum and bub are enjoying life (most days!). I'm looking forward to catching up soon. I should bring the measuring gear up and we can get things a little more 'accurate' some time soon.
I dont really need the supertel, but if you just want to get rid of it I'll take it. It can sit down stairs in the theat......um "storage room". I've got a couple of "sheets" of poly insulation left down stairs which I am going to make into panels at some point
Hello all. Of course, the day I had planned to paint it rains almost all day. In any case. I don't think I need to paint the surround timbers on the screen wall as they are not near the screen. So, I got those installed and cut some more track. I am hoping to get some more tracking up over the weekend. I tidied up behind the screen wall and put my home made speaker stands in situ. The old Ikea tables came out and I must say the speakers sound much better now that the tweeters are at ear level. As the stands are narrower, the speakers now fit within the screen area. Those Danleys take up a lot of real estate on the stage. Now it all fits in nicely. More progress soon hopefully..
Then I decided to take a Break and watch Snow White and the Huntsman. I am still impressed with my projector. 500 odd hours on the globe and it still lights up my 145 inch scope screen in low lamp mode. Here's the screen....
Peter M. Don't you be dissing my stylish IKEA coffee table / speaker stands. They held up well. But it's amazing how much better the room sounds with the acoustic batts up and the speakers at the right height. I was going to do some track cutting today but the weather is filthy here. I was also going to try to make some small bass traps with my leftover batts. Sorry Peter the Greek. You almost had them.
Got about 2 hour's work done today..... chopping up the remainder of my Supertel insulation and making bass traps for behind the stage. Worked out just about perfect. Did not quite have enough to get to the ceiling but not far off it. I'm a bit itchy now and I'm glad that job is done. That's enough for the weekend. All that insulation has given me a Thirst.
