Now that's some good music! wink.gif

Well there are a couple of truisms that seem to remain constant here on AVS. You rarely if ever hear someone commenting that there screen is too big or their rack is too big. Somethings in life are just better bigger. Racks (and screens) just happen to be two of them. biggrin.gif

Regarding the youtube link that is impressive as I have trouble rubbing my belly and patting my head at the same time let a lone do something like that, but I have no musical talent at all. Speaking of unusual musical talent, I ran across this clip several years ago. This guy can certainly play and puts an unusual spin on it.

Shamefully, it has been 9 months since I last posted. Sounds like an AA meeting. Or confession. Neither of which I am particularly requiring. Time flies. I also realized that I have failed to post final pictures so this is something I will sort out in the next couple of weeks. Have not been idle. House renovations are just about finished. That includes newly clad home, new colorbond roof, painting throughout, new kitchen, new oak floorboards, carpet, ridiculous amounts on electrical, alarm installation, tiling front and rear verandahs, 2× new bathrooms, swimming pool, new deck and now onto the landscaping. That will be a smaller undertaking due to the limited funds. To all intents, the HT is complete and is used regularly. Still loving it! I still need to build a frame around the equipment rack, reinstall my 8tb NAS which previously failed and get the Mini DSP sorted for subs. I know that I am only scratching the potential on the Danleys and it's still scary. I did not want to update my projector just yet but wanted 3d in my HT. I have a 58 inch 3d plasma in my family room but I really wanted 3d for the movie room. Ordered a VIP 3d Theater Plus so hopefully that will work well with my Mitsubishi HC6800 projector. I will post results soon.
Anyway, here are a couple of pics of the pool.
Cheers all.

Thanks guys. Getting there. Spent all day doing garden beds and spreading 6 ton of dirt and bark around. In the theater now watching the Clone Wars on bluray. 145 inches of 2.35:1 animation. Loving clone wars.....8e7y3yru.jpg

I just move really close to the screen. I just sold my 21" subwoofers. frown.gif

Have to make smaller subs and trying to make some more money to afford my parts for a synergy horn build.

Having accomplished all that can mean only one thing: time to sell the place and start over in a new house!

Good on ya, mate! wink.gif

Hello Hanes. I knew you would be a long with another appropriate picture. They will be carrying me out of this place after all the work. Or at least until I retire, which is 16 years, 2 months and 5 days from today. But who's counting. Happy Australia Day everyone.

Too many DIY projects going on. And My room is pretty small. Add in the new couch and smaller area for subs and the 21's really looked.......ridiculous. I love subs but they were an eye sore. I will have to make do with a dual 15" cabinet tuned to 40hz for now. Was part of a 3 way system I made a while back. And hopefully around June/July I will be building a pair of new subwoofer cabinets that each have a pair of 15's in them. Much smaller and carbon fibre exterior.

Then maybe this year I will finally start pedaling towards Sydney to visit all the great HT builds.biggrin.gif

Next time biggrin.gif

We had a fantastic time. It was a whirlwind trip (Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne) in 2 weeks. eek.gif But we were in Sydney right as those terrible fires started. Actually had a tour of the Blue Mountains the day before they started. So we saw them in all their beauty, but the next day the ash/smoke rolled into town frown.gif

Obviously our trip was too fast to see all the sites of the places we visited. But we got a good taste of them. I'd really like to have spent more time in the Sydney area. smile.gif

Wow, I step into this thread and get blown away by the surprise of an update! The pool looks amazing Greg, but just seems like an excuse to not have to mow the lawn anymore wink.gif haha, I'm sure you and Thomas would of got some great use out of it this summer.

whoa, the NAS failed, was that the Buffalo that you grabbed a while back? Mine is still running strong, but if you had it at 8Tb sounds like you weren't running in Raid 5? Mine has 4 x 2Tb's but only gives 5Tb in Raid 5...just in case one decides to die.

Anyway, great to see an update and know that the HT is still getting some great use. Personally I'm still using mine daily and absolutely love it biggrin.gif

Hi there Peter,

Building the pool was a very expensive way to reduce my mowing. I think that I could have employed a lawn service for 20 years for the same cost! But yes, it has been great over Sumnmer and I have learned that pool slippery dips are great ways to make sure your 6yo sleeps at night.

It was the Buffalo NAS that failed, but they were pretty good. the drives were intact - it just would not power up. Buffalo replaced it pretty quickly and the new one is fine. I have not actually used it lately. Still setting up my network switches and runninfg Cat 6 for firmware updates, streaming etc. I need to get everything wired up and working correctly before I build the rack into an enclosure. Much easier to get to the wires right now.

Glad that you are getting lots of use out of your room. I wish that i had more hours in the day (or even if I could make it through a movie without drifting off to sleep) but such is life. My viewing seems to revolve around The Clone Wars, Transformers Prime, GI Joe and Transformers Beast Hunters Now that most of the projects are done, I expect I wuill have more time in the room. Might even watch a movie.

Take care mate.
