I have my room and am booked to go...

Looking at new projector's, seeing if there is a resurgence in surround processors and, of course, will go and haze the folks at the Theta booth (if they have one).

Will check out ADA of course and Trinnov, etc.

As things get closer, we must do an AVS dinner or two, of course, and take in some fine wines...

Thursday FINAL DINNER LIST:

Mark Haflich
Jack Tassara
Jeff Mardo (The Bland) and Wife
Art Sonneborn
Tony Didino and Wife
Taker
Scott and Cathy Horton (Get Gray and Wife)
Brian and Barb Garcia
Peter (CINERAMAX) and five others
Warren Peterson (AVS Vice President)
Jason Turk (Alan G`s boss, yuk, yuk))
Richard Westley and friend
Itai Cubesy and friend

You know I logged on to say I was going to pick up M Miles`dinner check and that SOB beat me to it. I am going to see the Atlanta Aquarium and the Coke museum and its 4D or whatever movie probably on Sat. morning. I will see the entire Cedia show in 3 days asnd plan on bugging out Saturday night. The show floor is like a morgue with no bodies on Sunday. Feedbag on with the boys Thurs and Friday nights.

Will show a multi blu-ray vault solution albeit a temporary one.
I'll be there. Room is booked... I'll be looking at projectors this year.
What does vault mean in this context. Lets get some nominations on where we should get together to eat for Thurs and Fri nights and who will be there those nights who wants to join the group.

There is no AVS party this year.

I'm flying in Wednesday afternoon. Let's plan a Wednesday and Thursday dinner. I'm taking off Saturday.

I enjoyed the group last time.. Great time for all.

We're flying in on Thursday afternoon and flying out Sunday. Would love to meet some of you. Especially Mike

Runco will have a 3-D system. Procella Audio will have something rather exciting.
Dennis. You seem to be the one who would know the Atlanta dinning scene best. I know you like Bones, an expensive upscale steak house. Certainly we could do that one night but it will be expensive. What else can you recommend in the non steak house category? Hopefully, unlike last year, I won`t have my trip cancelled the last minute because of major major surgery like last year. I am doing great and feeling fine though a lot of big steaks our not on my diet anymore. But a small fillet, six ounces, one night would be OK. And Bones allows my vice, Cigars. Be nice to finally meet you and discuss some flying.

MH, Bones sounds good to me. After I'm done I might just throw you a bone [notice I did not say "throw you THE bone" for those of you that are not 100% clear of my intent].

Paid $40 more per night that last year [$160 vs. $120] but staying across the street!

Cineramax, SmX Ruben and I ate at this real cool place last year. I wanted to marry the waitress but I want to marry every waitress...

I will probably be there (at least I am planning on it). Darin PMed me recently and said he is coming.

Peter,
Are you doing a booth with SMX and CINEPRO again? If you turn the sound off, then maybe I can sit through a whole demo.

It was Livingstons and I believe there were more than three people at the two tables. I don't remember the waitress, but I seem to remember a couple of attractive women at the bar (besides the attractive AVS female at our table).

If you guys go out for steak, then I might pass. I have been having trouble with steak lately. I guess I am just getting old.

I'm up for Bones.

mmiles - you in?

Feedbag on with the boys Weds, thurs, friday nights. Please guys. No chain restaurants that you can find in any big city. Let`s do Atlanta`s uniques.

The Atlanta Aquarium is nice, and that is coming from one of the locals. BUT, be prepared to be lost in a seas of so called humans from all over the country. Locals just are not tolerant enough to go more than once--I'm not.

I'll be there, let me know where dinner will be.. it will be great to see some of you again...

Italian = Antica Posta (no cuban vices allowed).
Seafood = Prime (Seafood and Steakhouse)
McKendrics is also steak and/or seafood
Fogo de Chao (but that is real meat heavy)

JUst a few ideas ... but then, Mark, we could just hop in the airplane and have ribs in Memphis while the others sort it out between Burger King and Mickey D's.

I will call some friends of mind the deal with the restaurant community of Atlanta for some additional feedback [no pun intended].

Dennis. We can share plenty of $100 hamburger stories. You guys google that and you will learn about general aviation pilots needing hours to stay current and getting together for a short flight from one general aviation airport where they are hangered to another general aviation airport less than 2 flying hours away to grab a $5 hamburger at the airport restaurant and fly back. Often using a single engine rented airplane. The other thing was the $400 round of golf. There are books listing general aviation restaurants and golf courses friendly to pilots. Today renting a cheap plane with gas will set you back about $500 for 4 hours of motor on. But boy does a greasy hamburger taste great after such a flight. Also flying from say Washington DC to Nantucket in a fast Moony for one its special restaurants. Any excuse to fly and when I was 22 and got Type I diabetes my medical for flying went poof. But whenever a general aviation pilot wants to split expenses I am there.

Mark .. you're coming in when and leaving when? Since I'm an instructor...you can have the left seat.
OK some Atlanta feed bag research...

I'm in Myrtle beach with four of the kids right now. Most incredible beautiful weather I've ever experienced in a stretch.

I'm going on Thursday.Tyrus has a game on Wednesday night. For me, always checking out projectors and whatever other tidbits I may stumble onto. Seeing as many of you guys is a big bonus ,fun to chat and learn from you guys.

I'm up for dinner(s).

Ray's on the River or Canoe is better than Creek

Killer Creek is ok.

Personally I want to see as much "Monsters vs. Aliens 3D" as I can...and I suspect it will be plentiful.

Dennis. Thanks for the offer but I will have to pass. I am talking my friend Bruce who is legally blind and it would be difficult to go off and fly with you. But we will do it some time perhaps when you are in the DC area some day. I live only ten minutes from the civ field for Montogomery County MD in Gaithersburg and my partner hangers a plane there which he hasn`t flown in three years. Talk about hurting a plane and skipping the annuals. Someday that`s going to be some big annual for somebody if he sells it as is. A split tail bonanza. The Doctor Killer.

OK uze guys. We need to pick the nights for each restaurant.

Art. How long are you staying for?
...I wasn't going to let Bruce fly the airplane.

Vault is the name given to the Kaleidescape BR mega-changer, which is required to store the BR disc for content playback from the server. In other words, the Kaleidescape system needs to see the correct BR disc prior to authorizing content playback from the server.

I will be there looking at projectors. I already did Procella speakers at Dennis' recommendation at last year's Cedia. I will be there all 4 days, and I would love to meet some of you.
