Defense Grid plus all DLC and map packs is $5 on Steam this weekend. Too rich for your blood? The base game is half that. If you already own that, the individual DLC non-map pack expansions are a $1.24 a piece. The "You Monster" one is Portal-themed.

Quality game, and at that price it should be in everyone's Steam library.

One of my first Steam games. One of my favorites.

Defense Grid looks fun, and at five bucks, I'm in. Thanks DaverJ. The new Tomb Raider at $20 is a fantastic deal for a great game. It really is. Seriously. You should play it. Now.

You're not the boss of me, I'm playing it later.

I grabbed Papo and Yo this weekend. Utterly enchanting little puzzle game. Took about 5 hours to finish it up.

Looking forward to Fez as well. I bought it on 360 but it kept crashing after I got a few hours in. Really loved the time I had with it. It's been a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time since I took notes in a game and Fez high all the right notes with me. It's up there with Metroid for me.

First it was announced that Pinball Arcade has been Greenlit, and now Zen Studios announced that Pinball FX2 is coming to Steam, and soon. cool.gif

Either way they are both excellent pinball games, will be great to see them running on a pc.

I'm wondering if they'll pull off portrait with pivot displays...

The Windows 8 version of Pinball FX2 supports portrait, so I don't see why the Steam version (which is supposed to have even better graphical fidelity) won't.

I'm really hoping the Steam version of FX2 plays nicer with the current Nvidia WHQL driver than the Windows 8 version.

Picked up Just Cause 2 with a few choice DLC selections for around $5. Seems like a great deal!

I really have to stop buying new games and finish the ones I have already but these sales are so tempting smile.gif

Play Just Cause 2 now! It is some of the most fun that can be had in an open world game. It does the "sandbox" part of playing in an open world better than anything outside of Minecraft, with the great result accidental user-generated experience. Just Cause 2 gives you tools to have a ton of fun. It doesn't try to force that fun on you like too many games these days. Plus, it doesn't take itself too seriously. smile.gif

The new Humble Bundle is amazing. Go give them your six dollars.
Agreed, it's worth that price just for Hotline Miami on its own, but the rest of the games are at the very least interesting, and some of them are very good as well.

Heads up on the current Humble Bundle. All of the Steam keys are separate this time instead of bundled like normal, so games that you already have you get to give to a friend.

When is the Steam summer sale expected to begin?

Seasonal sales are never expected to begin. They just start.

Snagged both of those bundles, fantastic deals for sure.

Slightly off-topic, figured it would probably be best to post it here rather than an entire new thread. Tomorrow (May 31st) around 4pm PST I'm going to kick off my first 24hr livestream if anyone is interested in watching/playing/winning. I got tons of stuff to play, I'll be playing with viewers/followers, and I have about a dozen games to give away every couple hours to followers. Would be cool to see some folks viewing/playing. I know Scott is going to play some stuff with me on stream.

$4.00 for the Alan Wake franchise.

Couldn't pass it up, probably will never even play it...
My mouse finger is hovering over that Alan Wake 4 buck deal. It includes several if not all of the addons. Problem is I spent 60 bucks on the darn game when it was first released on the xbox and never finshed it.
I'll need to trade in my xbox version for a steam card at gamestop. I wonder if they would give me 4 bucks for the trade. smile.gif

It's definitely worth $5. I guess you're time is up though!

Should I start buying up games on steam now if I'm not planning on building a gaming pc until next fall? Seems like there are alot of amazing deals.

No. Buy games for platforms that you currently own. That way you can play them.

Shadow Warrior is currently Free on steam. Who want's some Lo Wang? Go Speed Racer Go.

I like how I built this rather powerful computer and then I go and waste it on some really old games.

Saints Row 3 is free to play until Sunday, and it's on sale for $10 if you like what you see. Which you should. If you have a soul.

http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/license

Some more Xbox One news hit today. Why am I posting this here? Here's the important part:

"Give your games to friends: Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once."

It's a bit too restrictive and overbearing, but certainly a step in the right direction. My single largest complaint with Steam is that I can not give my games away when I am done. In example, I bought Aliens: Poop Marines last week for $12. I finished it in two days, and will never touch it again. I would like to now be able to give it away to my friend that is the biggest Aliens fan so he can see the chunk of fiction, but I can't. That game is locked uselessly to my account forever.

My hope is that with the consoles beginning to allow license transfers like this, Valve will make the appropriate consumer-friendly response and start letting us do something similar.
