Just saw that myself. Unfortunately, I doubt that the two main things I'm looking at will go on sale at any point just because they're so new (DayZ and Walking Dead S2).

I'm sure I'll pick up a couple things here or there anyway though.

Yeah I'm still playing through stuff from the last sale. Not that I'm complaining about sale overload, but I'm getting dangerously close to buying lots games I'm never going to play.

Might throw down 20 on Metal Gear. I like the series.

Same here.

I have approximately:

7 xbox 360 games
3 ps3 games
20 pc games

which still need to be played! So unless a deal is super good, I'll most likely pass on most of the deals. Fortunately, it's also helped me delay purchasing a xbone or ps4 so I can see which one ends up on top. And even more fortunately, it's kept me from the cluster f--- that's Battlefield 4!

Don't forget to vote to get your cards!

Been playing BF4 and having fun. At least until my card died, but was having a blast before that. Only ever crashed once. Since my card's been gone for RMA I've been playing with Commander mode on my tablet, having a ton of fun with that.

I'll be keeping an eye on my wishlist for price drops. There's a few things on sale today I'd like, but not a must have yet.

I should've clarified - BF4 clusterf--- on console.

I've been following both threads and... wow. Seems to be just now resolved. Maybe. As for pc, I know it's had its crashing, too, but I'm typically a console gamer first and pc gamer second. It's a lower back issue with me more than gaming preference. Fortunately, with controller integration, wireless keyboards, wireless mice, and HDMI, it's a lot easier to PC game on a TV than it was 5-10 years ago!

Yeah I've heard the horror stories about the console versions. I'm getting my XBO back from repairs tomorrow and I restarted my GameFly subscription and will be getting BF4 next week for it. Going to be a strange change from the visuals and control of PC lol.

I'm shocked you're not playing BF4...I'd have figured you'd still be playing the hell out of it despite how broken I hear it is. Is it really that much worse than BF3 was at launch?

Yeah BF3 actually WORKED at launch.

I would be playing the hell outta BF4 if it wasn't for the timing. Releasing it at the same time as new consoles really screwed things up for me. With all my friends going next-gen I had to decide to dump my backlog of games and follow them or play my backlog. Guess I was lucky by choosing the latter.

Prices on Steam site are showing in pounds instead of dollars for me. Never seen that before.

At least that's still English. Steam likes to randomly turn Norwegian on me.

I bought Brutal Legend with the soundtrack in the last sale for $2.49. I thought it was worth that just for the soundtrack. Come to find out it was the stinking game music. Did not want. I wanted some Brocas Helm.

Anyway, add it to my back log, I never finished the game on xbox, maybe I will(most likely not) on PC someday.

In case someone else is aware of the awesome music in the game, and had the same idea I did, don't fall for it. Unless you really want the game.

Not seeing anything that jumps out at me. Got gifted Metal Gear from a IRL pal so that was cool.

Just picked up PvsZ for my kids, Castlevania Lord of Shadow Ultimate Edition and NFS: Shift for myself. I bought Shift 2 and love it. The sim dudes don't like these much, but they are similar to Forza (simcade-y) so they are right up my alley and work great with my new G27 wheel. I really don't know why I'm buying these games, though. I have no effin' time to play them.

I decided to try out Nether from yesterday's sale. It's another survival type game in the mold of DayZ, except a little more supernatural. I first have to admit that I haven't played DayZ in its alpha standalone version, just in the mod version... and that's probably been almost a year ago. Still, my thoughts on it...

Nether though feels much more like a traditional FPS. You start off with a melee weapon, compass, and map, sometimes there are surges that you can try to defeat with other people. Of course, most other people will just shoot on sight, so that doesn't happen often in my experience. It's much easier to find guns, and there's a single combined water/food meter that represents all of your character's needs. Day/night cycles are much faster, and (currently, though it's set to expand) the map is much smaller. I did like that there was a variety of NPC enemies, instead of all the same type of zombie though.

DayZ is (or was, when I played it) more jerky, and I always thought it was pretty obvious they were trying to shoehorn in a game into an engine that wasn't designed around that sort of play... though hopefully that's changed by now with the standalone. It just feels more realistic in a lot of ways. When I ran out of food and water in it, I was always legitimately scared I wouldn't find anything in time. I needed to decided if it was worth going out for supplies in the rain. It just really felt a lot more tense. It wasn't perfect either though - there were basic failures like getting constantly stuck trying to get in and out of a building, or not actually being able to tell which buildings you can actually open the doors of, or that sort of thing. And one huge thing that Nether does better, is that DayZ's world often (but not always... depending on where in the map you were) felt like a normal pristine countryside setting, whereas in Nether, the world immediately feels apocalyptic.

Personally, if I was going to pick between the two, DayZ was better even back in mod form. Still, Nether was pretty good for the hour I played it, and for those who prefer a traditional shooter, it feels way more like that than the Arma-based DayZ does.

Of course, like I said, I haven't tried the standalone DayZ, and both are in early access right now anyway, so either could possibly change dramatically still.

Got that 3D Mark utility. It's purdy but I've no clue what the heck it's showing me other than my PC sucks.

That's all it does. Honestly it's only good if you're into driver settings tweaking. I used to run 3D Mark time and again with like 6 different drivers to see which had the best performance. Every time a new driver came out I'd run it to see how I did. And as usual I could never reach the same performance levels that I'm supposed to get with my various cards. It's fun to look at and see a demo of what my graphics card COULD/SHOULD do in video games. Yet it takes YEARS before those things actually show up in video games.

In short, back when it was free it was a fun distraction.

Speaking of tweaking, anybody using Geforce Experience? I'm getting mixed results with just running the application. It hangs and crashes and seems mostly useless.

I have it installed for ShadowPlay. I don't use it for anything else. I tweak my own settings in games.

They added Twitch livestreaming which is pretty cool. I can use it without a significant hit on my Titans.

I use it - no crashes on my end. I sometimes try it's optimized settings as a starting point and tweak from there. Messed with ShadowPlay, but it was a bit confusing and I wasn't crazy with the results. I like the driver update notifications.

So I finally got something on the sale... Held out this long, but the Flash Sale for the You Don't Know Jack Classic Pack got me... Such nostalgia there going back almost 15 years. 9 games for $5 was pretty good though lol

I almost went with that, but went with the Strke Suit Zero game instead.
