I got Ghostbusters too...lol. I also got Dead Space for $7.98, if I remember correctly.

The Steam Give And Get Sale has now started.

http://store.steampowered.com/give/

Seriously. 6 copies of Borderlands to hand out to your friends for $40. Or 10 copies of Half-Life 2 to give out to your friends for $20, so everyone can play just about every Source mod ever.

Borderlands by itself is also $10 today.

Crazy deals.
I have to admit, so far I'm pretty disappointed in the steam sales. The best deals are games I already have. I grabbed Alpha Protocol for $7.50, not seeing anything else. Hopefully they are building to some sort of climax.
yea, hoping so, too.

I doubt we'll see a F:NV or Black Ops go on sale, but there's things I don't have that I'd like to see.

Fallout New Vegas has been available for $30 at least twice this past week from Direct2Drive (last weekend) and Amazon (Lightning Deal earlier today). The game requires Steam, so it doesn't matter where you get it from - you'll need to tie it to your Steam account anyways. The D2D deal was nice because as soon as you purchased it, it gave you the license key, so you could just add that to your Steam account immediately and start downloading.

steam is having problems today...games disappear from the cart and and the appear again follow by "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance."
I woke up this morning and checked the Steam sale at about 10:15. It said all the sale games were 0% off at that time. I checked back about 15 minutes later and the sale prices were back to normal.

I think the deals for the bulk packs have been really good this year, but the sales for the individual games are a little lacking. Maybe I just purchased to many games last year.
I got to say that I am liking this Steam sale. So far I have picked up Batman:Arkham Asylum, Wings of Prey, Splinter Cell Conviction, Metro 2033, and Kane and Lynch 2. I just got Splinter Cell, Aliens VS Predator, and Metro, so I have not played them yet, but all the others are great games. Kane and Lynch 2 for $5 so far was a great buy. I have played a couple hours of this game and I am diggin' it. It is just too cool. I turned the voice, music, and ambient sound down a bit so that the guns are much louder. At default they sound too quiet. Anyway I picked up two copies for my LAN.
I still have alot of games from last year that I haven't finished yet, and there will still be alot of games for sale to come (if last year's sale is any indication). Patiently waiting for Just Cause 2 and MW2 to go on sale.

Grabbed me some Dirt 2 for $5! Also picked up ~11 indie titles this week. Not bad for $20 total.

Most of the other deals I was interested in I already had. I was hoping for a $10 Just Cause 2, but sadly it was not to be. The next sale is probably in 4 weeks though, so no biggie.
James, you should join up with tomfoolery and I for some MP Dirt2 this week.

I'm still holding out for NFS:Shift for $20 or less and maybe FO:New Vegas for cheap too this Xmas.
GET DIRT 2 PEOPLE! Scott and I will multiplayer with you.

Ok, games I wanted, that did NOT go on sale...with the exception of Call of Duty, I really didn't think that my choices were unreasonable and in fact I thought many would be there.

Civ V
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3
NFS:Shift
Sim City 4
Singularity
Fallout:New Vegas (I know it was on sale elsewhere)
Transformers:War for Cybertron
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops (I can wish)
Fallout 3 GOTY
MW2 was OK, but I don't see myself paying more than $15 to get it on PC as I have the Xbox version already.

I'd like to see the Transformers game, too.
update: I had a IP conflict...it's working fine now
post #83 of 1864
I made off with the Indie Pulse Pack and a copy of Trine. Nothing else interested me this time around.
I'm adding some of you to my friends list so I can get my achievement for today's promo. hope it's not a big deal - feel free to remove me after the promo's over (Dec 20th)

http://store.steampowered.com/treasurehunt

Everyone's keeping an eye on the deals that are sprinkled in with the Treasure Hunt, right?

In addition, I loaded up Dirt 2 tonight. On my Phenom II X4 GTS250 @ 1080p, it plays fantastically with everything cranked to maximum. No DX11 tessellation for me on my DX10 card, but it looks good enough in DX9/10 mode. It even plays along quite well with the 360 gamepad, acting as if it was a 360 game. For $5, it is a win!

Yep. I picked it up, too. Now, I'm gonna go for that Beat Hazard score.
I don't have a chance at anything more than the basic TF2 bonus hat (5 goals) in the treasure hunt since I don't like to buy random stuff that way, but I bought Chime and Just Cause 2 because of the great price for stuff I want to play.
