After a week, Onkyo finally answered my email asking about problems with the TX-NR808.
"Thank You for contacting Onkyo USA Product Support.
There are no known issues with the TX-NR 808 as this time. It can possibly
be that customers are now trying to obtain the newer receivers."
Who's right? How can you argue with that statement? (Except the "
as this time")
There are several posts in this thread that imply that Onkyo is well "aware" of the problems with the 808 and has "notified distributors" to replace the 808 with the 809.
Is all this talk about problems with the 808 just a joke for someone who has time to waste, or what? Can any of this be verified, one way or the other?
It would be a relief, if there are no common problems across the whole 808 line and I can stop worrying about it.
Just asking.
