Misadventures in 3D D*

Did anyone else catch the clip from Misadventures in 3D during a break in the All Star game?

Here's the description from Wikipedia:

This film picks up where its successful predecessor, Encounter in the Third Dimension left off.

The professor and his trusty robot Max are caught in an unknown zone between the 2nd and 3rd dimensions! To make matters worse, they soon learn that the Institute, which has the only equipment that can get them home, is preparing to close its doors forever! As the Professor and Max scramble to get a message to the Institute's board of directors, their adventures in the wrong dimension help demonstrate how 3D technology works. Amazing visual processes that we take for granted such as perspective, occlusion, and relative motion take on new meaning once experienced in 3D on the giant screen.

The guide is showing a new program called "nWave Pictures" for broadcast on July 26. No description is shown but perhaps it is the broadcast of this program?

I wish D* would give more info on its upcoming 3D programming.

In theater effects like wind, rain etc.

Interesting.

Reminds me of when "Earthquake" came out and some theaters had floor shakers. I'd heard in some theaters they would alter the room temperature for some movie scenes.

It was either MGM or Universal Studios that had the Muppets in 3D, and they used wind, water, and different scents for the 4D effects. Was actually pretty cool, though I was 13 at the time.

I've seen that "nWave Pictures" in the program guide before. I think it is just a placeholder for any of the nWave programs they have been showing, like Wild Safari, African Adventure, Dinosaurs, or Encounter in the 3rd Dimension. Of course, it could be a new program of their's, as well.

During the XGames there was once again a commercial for this program. It stated that the program is currently broadcasting. Has anyone seen this?

I haven't viewed the HD version, but have watched the previous Sensio 3-D DVD release. (Encounters was also released in the Sensio 3-D format.)

When compared to ENCOUNTERS, I felt like MISADVENTURES was more of a half-attempt, and lacked the pacing of the first feature. Strictly my two cents worth, and other's may feel differently.
