I use a usb flash drive to play our music in our cars. Will these work with this receiver and will I be able to hear the music using zone 2?

Not sure this is the right location to post, but...
I have an Onkyo TX-NR708, purchased in January 2011. I'm having difficulty w/bass settings. When using the audyssey EQ, I set the bass level to 75dB and I'm running a SVS subwoofer w/the gain on the subwoofer amp set at about halfway. On the home screen, to achieve 75dB with this gain setting, I had to move the bass adjustment (during the test tones process) way down. Then when using the receiver for music, there is almost no bass. So, I decided to move the increase the "Subwoofer Level" bass adjustment and increase it several dB to achieve more bass. Now my music sounds perfect, but when playing a Blu Ray w/a lot of low frequency content, the bass is overwhelming. I set the LFE to -20db and also tried -Infinity dB, but this only helped a little. I actually had to turn my subwoofer down when watching Ironman 2 last night. The home screen doesn't want to let me adjust the settings by source (bass higher for audio input, bass lower for Blu Ray/DVD input). If I touch the "Subwoofer level" on the home screen, no matter the input selected, it changes the level for all the inputs. Anything I'm missing? This receiver has so many layers of adjustment, wondering if I'm doing something improperly. Thanks! -Brian |

After you run Audyssey, you might want to try boosting the crossover setting for the mains, too. It set my front left/right to 40 Hz, which I think means I'd be missing some bass. I bumped them up to the 80 Hz THX recommended setting. This might affect music differently than it affects movies, since movies may have more sub-40Hz effects.

Make sure the url you use points to the mp3 or rss feed (not an html document). This info can usually be found on the station's website.
When I say manually, though, I actually meant enter it right on the onkyo, using the remote & on-screen keypad, bypasing the computer altogether. |
