"CSI: NY" on CBS in HD

Please post all related comments, pictures, video, and chat in this thread.

There is not an official CSI: NY thread, sort of weird.
Maybe people have used the regular CSI thread to speak about the NY episodes? If there's a CSI: NY thread already in use, please merge or lock.

Karl Beem mentioned earlier that one of the lead CSI: NY cast members is leaving the show.

Sela Ward To Replace Melina Kanakaredes on "CSI:NY"?

"We hoped Melina would return to 'CSI: NY' for another season, but we respect her decision to move on," CBS Television Network and CBS Television Studios said in a statement. "She will forever remain a friend to the network and studio and we wish her the very best."

Word of Kanakaredes' departure comes as production is set to begin on a seventh season for the show, which is moving from Wednesday to Friday nights. Actor Gary Sinise stars.

Speculation is rampant about a possible replacement and the most often mentioned actress is Sela Ward.

The 54-year-old Mississippi-born actress is best known for playing Teddy Reed in the 1990s TV drama "Sisters." She has had numerous TV and movie roles since then.

Kanakaredes is one of several actors to leave "CSI" shows this season. Also departing are A.J. Cook ( Jennifer "JJ" Jareau on "Criminal Minds"), Liz Vassey (Wendy Simms on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigations"), and Eddie Cibrian (Jesse Cardoza on "CSI: Miami").

Melina is leaving? Is she taking all those low cut blouses with her?

Are they trying to kill this show? Moving it to Friday nights, Melina leaving?
You're right, I could have swarn there was a CSI NY thread but could find nothing but CSI (Vegas) and CSI Miami threads
I will also miss Melina(54 years old I would have believed 44) and isn't Friday nights about the worst nights for TV? Oh well with a DVR it doesn't really matter what time or day a program is on, Tivo will find it Although if they lose Gary, I'm gone.

I hate to see Melina leave but I think Sela will be a good replacement.

However, moving it to Friday (the death night of TV) doesn't seem like a good move. I watch CSI:LV 1st & then NY but I can't stand to watch Miami (David "traumatic look as I remove the sunglasses" Caruso) is awful. I sure hope NY hangs on.

I'm not as sure. CBS Fridays lineup is strong, for a Friday. CSI:NY is wedged between Medium and Blue Bloods, starring Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg.

I think the article used some vaguery with the age description---Melina is 43. Sela is 54.

CBS Renews 'CSI: NY', Cancels 'Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior'
By Nellie Andreeva, Deadline.com - May 17th, 2011

In the battle of the bubble crime drama spinoffs, veteran CSI: NY won a reprieve with a last-minute renewal, while freshman Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior is being canceled after a short midseason run.

The season finale had Mac at a crossroads looking back at all the mayhem in his career and leaving his office in the final scene open to going back or going on. Apparently the script was written to be an exit if the show was not renewed, but not final if it was.

In as much as it was renewed and even gets a better time slot, I guess we can expect Mac Taylor back busting doors, conducting questioning sessions and making armed assault like all lab rats do next season. Love it.

Wow, 5-7 days! Yep! But if you want to go further back, what?! The show is good. No need to to post/trash what works!

Maybe head over to the "Wipeout" thread where all the "kiddies" post their desires about Jill and her "hotness". Geez!

Seriously, I don't know why we need police at all, when we can have lab coated, pistol packing, master interrogators do all the work. They multitask so well, the regular cops must be in awe of them. Plus they've got all the best glass offices and techy toys. I think the CSI geeks are probably the secret masters of the universe...(probably all scientologists that have graduated to pure Thetan).

CBS Renews CSI: NY', Cancels Rob'
By Nellie Andreeva, Deadline.com - May 13, 2012

On the heels of canceling fellow spinoff CSI: Miami, CBS has renewed the youngest in the franchise, CSI: NY. Additionally, the network has pulled the plug on the midseason comedy Rob.

The fate of the last remaining CBS bubble series, veteran comedy Rules Of Engagement, is still being determined.

For me, the addition of Sela Ward has been a positive for this show and I'm glad to see it renewed. The downside is they schedule it opposite of Grimm and Fringe so my DVR gets a workout on Friday nights.

Well, this thread doesn't see much action.

Last night's episode was billed as a season finale, but it had the look of a series finale, or would serve as one if not renewed.

How many episodes were on this year? Ending in February does not show much faith by the network for the continuation of this series, I am afraid, as I still like the show.

The CBS site appears to show an episode number of #17 for the finale. Not entirely clear though.

Episode 917 and it sure seemed like the end frown.gif
Ya just got to it on my DVR and for at least the next 2 weeks no CSI NY airing......very odd time to end a season....
I'll miss it if it's the end, lots better than a lot of the other shows on TV, Gary was a real class act.
