Suggestions for speakers, help

Hello, I'm currently looking for some speakers which have to meet some certain requirements. My audio knowledge is a little limited so I figured I'd ask here for better results.

I want some speakers that correspond with mp3/ipods via headphone jack input. Right now, I don't have a working ipod or I'd just look up ones with a docking bay. I'm using my old mp3 player and want some low priced ( $50 maximum ) speakers that I can plug into a mp3/ipod headphone jack, to take on a trip. Basically, was wondering if someone knew of some good speakers, best bang for the buck of what I need. Wattage etc etc

Thanks for your time !

For $50 you can't buy much besides a cheap 2.1 PC speaker set

Okay, thanks. How do you know if it has the headphone jack input. I see that other 2.1 speaker systems say auxiliary input jack, but I was wondering if there was another way to tell or not.

PC speakers hook up to computer through their 3.5mm head phone male jack with the computer having the female

You MP3 player should have a 3.5mm female jack. PC speaker male goes into the female simple

Okay, thanks. I found this set which is cheaper and is 100 watts. Was wondering if there was a reason they are better yet cheaper.

"Was wondering if there was a reason they are better yet cheaper."

Why do you assume the Coby set is better? The Coby is rated 3-1/2 stars by 4 people, while the HP is rated 4-1/2 stars by 13 people. Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because the manufacturer says they are 100 watts makes them sound better than the 30 watt rated HP set. Personally, for the $8 difference I would get the HP.
