The release date has been removed from play's website but I'm guessing this is still coming. Wondering if this will come out here, considering Mel is...umm...a lethal weapon

I would like to have a remastered version of LW2 and an HD copy of LW3, but I have never seen #4. I heard it was just too "over the top", which even #3 was to some degree.

The 4th is actually my favorite.

I would like to purchase 3 and 4, as well as take part in a replacement program for 2, even though I bought it on HD DVD. 1's transfer is nothing special, but it is not distracting to me. 2 is very distracting however, I can still picture spinning hubcap spokes with enough jaggies that you'd think you were watching an old FMV game on Sega CD.

Love 3 & 4, can't wait!
Well, given that LW2 and LW4 were never published in UK without cuts so far, it will be questionnable if they will be uncensored on BR.
Actually, Sky have an Uncut print of LW2 and show it all the time in HD.
It has been passed/sneaked thro since the BBFC mess.
As for LW4 the UK cut is the directors preffered version

**** that, I want the ultra-violent US version.
I'm just hoping that someone finally digs out the original ending for LW4 and sticks it in here, assuming it's coming...

Me too! I just hold little hope, unless they do what they did with Nico

According to melonfarmers.co.uk LW4 was voluntarily hacked up by the Distributors.I believe this was to get it a 15 cert instead of an 18......

It was, and at release Donner said he liked the violence dialed down

What violence? *laughs* Honestly, I thought LW4 was pretty tame. Then again I was watching Robocop and Total Recall in kindergarden so yeah.

Sure been waiting a long time for the full series to come out on BD. They really need to redo the first two that are out. Yuck!

Hitting a pregnant woman was the worst thing in the BBFC's eyes, and Jet fighting with a rod thro him was pretty bad

Everything the BBFC had rated was deemed unlawful and unenforceable, so Warner just put the Uncut version of Nico on the Blu-ray and didn't tell anybody lol

Dozens of prosecutions for alleged breaches of the 1984 Video Regulations Act have been dropped, with ministers admitting it is "no longer enforceable" in UK courts because of a technical loophole.

That's all the violence I remember from it. That was a bloody fight scene. I just thought that the other three LW movies were more violent. LW4 was almost PG13 in that sense but it definitely isn't a PG13, thankfully. I guess I need to watch it again.

Agh! Come out on BD LW 1-4!

Stop taking the piss. The fight scenes in LW4 are chopped up so badly they're incomprehensible. I know that's what people actually pay for these days *cough* Bourne *cough* but LW4 suffers for it. And there are some hefty cuts to LW2 for us poor Britishers as well.

I just thought it was ridiculous that those were too violent to be included in the UK cut.

The first film is an absolute classic, excellent. The second is good, the third is ok, and the 4th is ok too.

I would probably buy the first two, but not all that bothered about 3 & 4.

Well, at the time the ratings board frowned upon martial arts violence, especially at the softer '15' rating which Warners wanted for LW4. Any hint of chop-socky action, or the sight of a butterfly knife or nunchuks, and SNIP! It's gone. Now they've lightened up in general. See how Terminator 3 got an 'R'? It got the equivalent of a 'PG-13' ('12A') over here.

There's a very good chance that these LW2/4 cuts will be waived, but you never can be 100% sure until it's spinning in your player at home.
Or warner will just put the uncut versions on the disc (all warner discs have the same video content) and just not tell anyone
post #28 of 78
Will the first two be from the same 1080i messes that WB originally gave us?

I have yet to buy 1&2 because of the lousy transfers.

Just talked to my contact at WB and he says there's no plans to release this in the US this year. Dunno if it's true...but...there you go.
