That makes no sense. Buying a CD or DVD from someone would only allow Amazon to avoid royalties if the seller was also the copyright owner and the copyright was included in the sale. Retail purchasers of CDs or DVDs don't own the copyright, of course, so they certainly can't sell it. But note that IANAL.

Can we pls get back to the topic .. ie : tuner performance, do we have any clue ? media player, will we be able to run ISO BR ? will we be able to direct record a BR feed via HDMI ? motion correction will it have any and can it improve BR 24 fps to 720p60 ? and yes I have pre-ordered a unit without knowing, call me a fool or a beleiver

While the web site no longer has the coupon request it still has the ability to request a question. They seem to answer them quickly. That HDMI input is my biggest question. As for the other items we only have a marketing proposal to work with, so we speculate. You're not a fool. Nobody publishes specs much anymore. That would invite comparison and maybe require sales people explain them too. That would be funny.

I'm sure all of us have expectations and desires. They're just not all the same.

It makes a little sense. If I record, using my VRX, something like a CD that I own. I can let you listen to it but I can't sell it to you or give you a copy. One of the specs on the VRX even mentions having the ability to save music.

I'm sure it will be challenged in court.

I have asked them a few questions, and they answered every time and promptly.
I didn't want to wear out my welcome asking them a million questions so, how about some others from here on the forum ask them some questions and post the replies for all to see.

I'm still waiting too......pretty soon the cash I had earmarked for the purchase will have to be allocated elsewhere.

Why it is $64,000 question?

Shipping kill the deal for me,U$46 to canada,I'm backup.

Hope see some video reviews soon, now I will stick with my satellite receivers(Sonicview 8000HD & nFusion HD).

Does your nFusion HD work ok for recording OTA?? What file are you running??
On mine, it will work but it requires a really fast hard drive and even then it seems to stumble a bit on certain recordings - mainly PBS nature shows.

The sonicviews are great.

There is nothing to ship. If it was $1 you still couldn't get one yet. Someday.

I believe the product was first announced in 2009 and I saw mention of it then when I was searching for inexpensive alternatives to TiVo. I just came back to this thread after a couple of weeks without checking this thread since I recalled seeing claims the product would soon be released. Instead of seeing people discuss how well it works, I see mention of the possibility of it being released in a few months. I will check back in a few months when I expect to see further speculation about when it will be released.

Ceton and Whiteman Technology have announced upcoming expensive products, at least that part is realistic, and those are going to be more exciting to read about in any event. All of the products face long odds but Ceton looks to have the best chance, it will be priced at cost plus a profit and if there is no market willing to pay the necessary price, it will disappear quickly if it is ever launched. This pipe dream at $200 faces long odds and won't likely ever be released but is guaranteed to fail if it does launch in my opinion.

No, that has no recording capability. It's just a tuner/switcher.

I found this page on the ePVision site yesterday. http://www.epvision.com/HDTVSTB/phdvrxmain.htm I decided to take the plunge and go ahead and order one. The page offers a $20 discount for pre-orders, so makes the final price $228 and change. The device features 2 (atsc)tuners, record one, watch one or record both; recordings are made on an external (usb) drive, media playback via ethernet and a remote control. Sounds too good to be true for the price. I use their HDTV tuners (PHD-205LE) in several of our ENG trucks, they do a decent job and are good quality products. Hope it ships soon and is not just vaporware.

rockisdead; PM me (your PM's are turned off). The media switcher came out last year and is what this is based on.

smintn; I beleive that is the original design. The release version might not have that since component isn't implemented AFAIK.

tvoldtimer; That has been posted many times.

Hmm, whatever happened to "PHD-VRX will be in stock soon in our warehouse"? ePVision has had that note for almost 3 weeks now .

My money is on Black Friday. And a review by someone with cable only.

I have a BV-980H and DVICo M6620N. A third purchase might make me one of those doing the same thing multiple times expecting a different result.

I also had a CM7400 but it didn't work with my cable so it went back.

So if you take the two of us I guess the over/under ought to be about Labor Day! Do I hear any bets?

But you are relating release to a U.S.A. holiday. Black Friday is celebrated worldwide. [joke] [maybe]

"About" Labor Day is today in most of the world anyway.

Ok, let me be more specific. Black Friday is usually accepted to be the Friday following Thanksgiving here in the US and since this is about a product that is supposed to be delivered here in the US, I think California if I remember, I will propose Sept. 3rd (Labor Day USA) as the over/under date. Now do I hear any wagers? Of course I am not sure whether that will be the delivery date or the arrival date..... maybe 2012!

That's the spirit!
