I like the name on it lol. Idk what the heck people were talking about if and burn in. I'm yet to see any. No buzz. Nothing. This site made me scared of getting a plasma lol

My results were not that low. Then again the camera I was using was so crappy that it was hard to tell. I NEVER got anything higher then 31 while in game mode testing. I'd say average was about 20. I'm a hardcore gamer. It's pretty much my passion. And honestly. Gaming is not a problem at all on this set.

Did you do tests outside of game mode? I'm curious if game mode actually reduces lag on these sets. (a lot of plasma sets use game mode as a picture mode only, with it having no effect on the lag)

No, I only tested in game mode because I had only done lag test for gaming reasons only. I didn't see myself gaming outside of gaming mode. I can say this. Gaming without game mode on felt like gaming on my LN46A650. Fast but still a little to slow. With game mode on. It felt like there wasn't any lag at all. And I'm a pretty avid gamer. i also don't understand why people are so worried about burn in and IR. I'm yet to see any of it and the 1st thing I've done on this set is game.(i'm actually online right now) Haven't had a single issue. I plan on writing a full detailed review of what I think of this set. Just to help give people an idea what they are going to buy before they buy it.

I realize I'm a little off topic on this thread, but I figured I'd chime in briefly anyway...

I've owned both of the LED versions these sets, and currently own the 8000. The 7000 is a great set. I had the 40" version and the color and clarity were pretty amazing compared to other TVs I had seen. The only negative thing worth noting was the edge lighting was sometimes noticeable in the lower corners of the screen, depending on the content being viewed and the brightness of the room.

There was a mixup with my billing on Amazon and the only way they had to deal with it was to have me return the TV, so when I returned the 7000 I figured I'd go for the 46" 8000 since it had come down in price a little since buying the 7000. The color and clarity look the same, but the edge lighting is substantially improved over the 7000 in pretty much any situation, and especially when viewing in a dark room. For this reason alone, I'd recommend the 8000.

I've always wondered about the difference between the 7000 and 8000 plasma versions of these sets though. A friend of mine has the 8000 plasma and the picture quality is excellent.

IMO. Get a local dimming set or a plasma. Don't look otherwise

8000 all the way! Spent sometime today with them side by side and the 8000 was a lot more black. And also more options when it comes to 24fps.

3D is great. But I only use it for gaming. I haven't noticed any crosstalk.

I voted for the C7000. In fact, I just received the 63C7000. I find it hard to argue the merits of the C8000 over the C7000 considering the street prices between the two and the service mod tweak.

I only see a $300 difference. I guess when we are talking about two products in the $3500+ range I don't see that as a huge difference. I would like to see how much better that real black filter works on the C8000. IF it does really work and makes a difference, then for me the extra $300 is worth it...

If you shop around a bit for street prices rather than MSRP, the difference is larger than $300. In my particular case with my room lighting, the filter was not needed. I'm not certain how effective it is.
