Changing Ballasts between LCD-RPTV's ???

So I have a bunch of old LCD projection TV parts,,, I have a few balasts from sony and hitachi TV's that seem to be of the same make,

My problem today is I have an LG RU-52SZ30, and I have broken it down to having a bad ballast, I have a couple other ballasts that have the same ratings, anyone have any experience switching ballast's between TV's ???

What parts in the ballast usually cause failure, could I possibly just switch parts between balasts?

Ok so I have decided to try and fix the original ballast from the TV first, I tested all the resistors and 1 doesn't read anything with my tester. there is also an unmarked thing that looks like a resistor or diode that doesn't read anything when tested.

<---- white unmarked thing that doesn't register

<---- blue resistor that doesn't register

The color code on the resistor says its 46ohm
and for the white thing that looks like a resistor or diode could that be a thermal fuse ??

Any help on this would be awsome

You are correct in noticing different MFG's use the same ballast, but I would not swap any ballast, unless I knew for a fact that it is the same. There can be many little differences that could cause you major head aches. Plus you can by ballasts now dirt cheap. Just shop around
