Lighting Control Suggesstions - Harmony 1000 Compatible

Recently I had the light/dimmer switch to the lights in my HT room go out, so I decided I want to replace it with something I can control with my Harmony 1000 remote. I don't want to break the bank here, just something simple, yet of good quality that I can replace it with.

Don't know if it would work or not but maybe you could look into the Lutron Maestro IR dimmers?

I would think if you programmed the Harmony to emulate how the Lutron IR remote works, it should be work.

edit:: Did a quick search and came up with this: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmon...IR/td-p/286325

Hope that helps!

The only downside to the Lutron is it uses IR and the switch plate is around the corner from the seating area. I was thinking I was going to need something that did RF or X10.

In that case, I would ask someone to move this thread to the Remote Control section!

The lutron ir receiver is pretty good. Mine was around a bend. My nevo and pronto handled it well. I still had to point in a specific direction, but it worked. I recently upgraded the house to ra2 and love it. I think anything other than ir is going to get pretty expensive for just one switch...

what else would you use with the 1000 other than IR? last i checked the zwave portion on this model was only for communication between the remote and an extender; not direct zwave module controls...it only has IR to control things if i remember correctly.
