Die Hard 5: One death too many - Page 2

Woot!!!

Die Hard 5 is rated R!
I think they should really think about a successor right about now and could have used someone worthy like Tatum channing to be his son for this movie and carry on the torch because old Bruce is starting to look really geriatric. This franchise is just too good to die off and another 3-4 yrs for the next installment Bruce would look ridiculous for this type of intense action required.
I'm up for another. The second was a stretch. Enough people will buy, they will make a sequel for. I like most stuff BW is in in any case, so count me as a sucker for another....

No frikkin way will I see this franchise tarnished by some other actor. Bruce still brings the goods and until he can't anymore then we won't need anymore Die Hard movies.

Don't know about angry, but I'd be another that certainly wouldn't care for the series with anyone but good ol' BW in there.....with Channing Tatum why bother, let him establish his own thang so he can milk it to death....besides, what's he going to do, strip and make it a dance-off love story? eek.gif Many of the too old have continued to be able to make sequels although the more gifted have moved on and can even direct (thinking of Clint). Stallone, Schwarznegger and many others are due for retirement but BW has a few years to go. Looks great generally...needs the money for the new wife and kid, too.

Spot on Scott.

When Die hard comes to mind Bruce Willis is what we think of.

Wanna rephrase that? wink.gif

Continuing the Die Hard series with someone like Channing Tatum as the lead would be hot garbage.

Don't like my opinion? Then sign a petition to have me deported.

Isn't he in G. I joe 2? Isn't he the main cast?

Sorry, that wasn't what I meant....it was referring to Channing having G.I. Joe....nyuk nyuk. All I remember the little I remember of GI Joe Cobra was Dennis Quaid.

Love me some "Die Hard." In fact, the price was right and purchased the four-picture anthology. Even so, I just felt the franchise was on a slippery slope after the second installment. In the third, I knew what to expect and in the fourth, it was like the director wasn't even trying. I'm expecting a lot of special effects to take the place of acting/script in this one. How many times have we gotten all excited about a return to a franchise only to have a bad taste in our mouth?

With that said, yeah, I'll probably be the first in line. tongue.gif

According to Willis there's going to be one more after this to complete the series. If this one is good that's fine with me, but he better stock up on the Geritol.biggrin.gif

BW has made a career out of being a great action star.
He is almost always pitch perfect in these roles.
God bless 'im, but the Fat Lady always makes it to the stage....eventually.wink.gif

Die hard took a left turn with Die Hard 4

The reason the first 3 worked is because they were believable. At the time you were like "hey this could actually happen".

Now with 4 and 5 I see over the top super hero action scenes, terrible cgi, jumping out of 100 story windows fighting off f-15 guns and missles on highways. Im like what?

Im not sure there was much of any cgi in the first 3 which is what made them so good.

Hollywood sure knows how to kill movie series.

Like when McLane and that other dude had a fistfight on the wing of a passenger jet as it taxied toward takeoff? Totally believable!

Or how McLane ran across the broken glass in his bare feet, yet having his feet shredded to ribbons only bothered him for a few minutes before he forgot all about it? That happens to me all the time!

How about the time all the guys threw hand grenades into the cockpit of the plane, and McLane had enough time to run to the seat, strap himself in, and eject to a safe distance before any of them went off? 100% scientifically accurate!

There wasn't much CGI in them because there wasn't CGI at the time they were made. They did, however, use every other special effects technique available at the time.

It's "Movie Possible," which isn't the same "Real World Possible."wink.gif

The Fat Lady doesn't tote a 10 plus million dollar check - Bruce will be more than happy to
do "Bruce" as many times as they cut the check. Apparently, they like the rewind button and
don't consider the check a big deal. This means people also like the rewind button as well.

It's not like selling you the same video tape 5 times is it? Why yes it is. Enjoy the video....

5 Times!! Do I hear 6?

Ah yes, Demi...trainwreck extraordinare. It's said she recently "bonded" with Russell Brand. That's a special kind of dysfunction.
^ ^^ ^ Demi Moore looks better than that.

From January 10, 2013 in Mexico and at a fragrance launch in LA January 25, 2013.

Yeah, but all seen by the camera...unlike most CGI which is created in computers...not photographed..
