Center speaker sounds boxed in....

Hi!

i presently have an onkyo 608 with a Kef IQ6c as center speaker. I feel like the sound coming from the speaker is kind of unclear/boxed in.

Watched Avatar blu-ray, and some portion of the dialog sounds really boxed in ( 4-5 chapter, the one where jake meets michelle rodiguez in the plane hangar)

Its not crystal clear, is kind of normal?

I ran the Audyssey and set my speaker at 80hz, 0db ( the audyssey had it set a -5 db)

Dynamic EQ and Re-EQ at off

Any other sugestion?

Is your center speaker sitting inside a cabinet? If yes, pull it out so it's flush with the front edge as well as aiming it up towards ear height of the main listening position (ie. #1 mic position). Then rerun Audyssey to see if that improves audio from the center speaker.

Try turning the dynamic EQ on. It will make a huge difference. It has 3 different levels that you can try. My friend just got a 608 and I help him set it up. The dynamic EQ makes a huge difference when it is on. Good luck.

Hi!

It is not in a cabinet. I put it under my tv, angled toward listener. I used to have a pio 1018 and used dialog ehancer maybe i got used to that and that is way i think it is not as clear.

Try with all of the Audyssey stuff switched OUT may sound crisper..
Frequently we have that Audyssey really distorts the audio..

Hi!

Didnt do any change at the setting yet. What i have notice is that i when listen to music or watching tv ( standard cable box) the sound is alot more clear then when watching bluray ( hope it is my mind that is fooling me)
