Madden 11 Online Franchise

It's that time of year again boys and girls. With NFL training camp finally here and the worst month for sports (July) almost over, football season is just around the corner. The highly successful AVS Madden League will be transitioning from Madden 10 to Madden 11 in August and we'll have a limited number of spots available.

We're currently in Week 10 of Season 4 and are still going strong with 27 owners. Most all the guys will still be around for Madden 11, so I see no reason why we can't have a full 32 owner league when we kick things off with the new game. If you're interested in joining the coolest league in the history of leagues, post your PSN name here and check out our message board...

BTW, we play 2 games per week. We advance every Monday and Friday.

The Vikings will be available next season, I will be dropping out as the Vikings and taking over the Ravens.

I highly recommend this league to anyone who is interested. We are a solid group of guys who play ball. Our attendance has never dipped below 23 owners and that is a true testament to how strong this league is. You won't find a more solid group of owners who are anxious to play week in and week out. 1 year after it's release and we still only have 5 spots open is insane.

Jump on it!

The Vikings have been offered to one of our current owners, so I can't give them away just yet. The Seahawks and Bills are available right now though.

I would like to join those teams left are pretty crappy ...but I think this would be fun.

I am no madden expert (tournament level) but with family anf friends I hold my own.

Let me know if i have any shot at the Seahawks ...

Not me, would like to but too many sacrifices need to be made at home to accommodate the time difference between paradise and the rest of the U.S.

BTW the Madden 11 demo is out.

I'd take paradise in Hawaii over dealing with all these knuckleheads too!

Played the demo last night...good to see WRs actually try to keep their feet in bounds on the sidelines now!

I've updated the 2nd post and have put moepoker and killakobe81 at the top of the waiting list. I've still got to sort some things out with current owners/teams and will let you guys (and anyone else who wants to get their name on the list) know something as soon as I can. We're not going to start our Madden 11 franchise until the game has been out a couple weeks, so we've got some time.

Get your name on the list now, even if you don't get in at the start, this league runs year round so you'll get in eventually as we usually have a couple teams open up each season.

Sears is selling Madden for $49.99. Buy.com had it for $39.99 earlier but they seem to have sold out at that price. There is some controversy over EA's strategy pad control scheme this year that uses the D-pad. But thankfully the early complaints were loud enough that EA is going to give you the option to use last year's control scheme in the first patch whenever it's released.

Just from reading some of the early reviews and impressions, Madden 11 seems to have improved offensive capabilities much more than defensive ones. Look for some high scoring games. Hey Spinx, maybe you'll finally see someone score 100 points like you were asking about.

so happy i can use last years controls, changing to the dpad made no sense whatsoever
post #20 of 76
You need to wait for the patch, until then you're stuck with Strategy Pad to control players pre-play. Who knows, in the one month or more it may take EA to release the patch, everyone that doesn't like the Strategy Pad control scheme may get used to it and end up liking it.

This was EA's response to all the early Strategy Pad complaints.

<<We do believe that this change is for the better, and that in the long run it delivers a much more positive experience to the gamers that are willing to try and adapt. Due to the overwhelming feedback however, we will be providing the old-style button commands as an option that can be enabled. We are currently targeting this change to be released around the first week of the NFL season as it will take some time to get through third party approvals.>>

The dpad does make more sense.... however, we have had the previous system for several years and have adapted to it.... which makes the strategy pad cumbersome. It's easier to understand for new players... but an extra button push for fans of the series used to the 10' controls.

I should have the game when I get home for work waiting on my doorstep, but I don't think I am going to play it much until the final Madden 10 season is over.

What would be kind of neat is if they could introduce some form of guess the play type of audible. They previously had this in 2004 where you could hit right stick down to sell out against the run... or right stick up to send everyone back in coverage.... but I'd be looking for something where I could guess "toss left" and everyone's first step would be to prevent the toss.... if you guess right the defensive players get a split second head start and a better chance at stopping the play... guess wrong and you'd have to scramble back in to the original coverage giving an advantage to the offense.

Too many times I'll know exactly what play my opp. is going to run, call what I think is the right D to stop it, and still not stop it.... I think it would help stop money plays... and frankly is pretty realistic since in real life if an offense kept using a money play, the defense would eventually start to look for it.

What you're asking for is in NCAA 11 this year but I don't believe it's in Madden. In NCAA you can select pre-play for pass, rush-mid, rush-left, rush-right. But the penalty is huge if you select rush-left/right and your opponent runs the other way...you give up a huge play and many times a TD by selling out and guessing wrong.

I can't believe they haven't come up with a way to include that in Madden. They got rid of it in '05 when they added the hitstick and have never tried to incorporate it any other way. I think you're right, would definitely be a way to potentially stop money plays and cheezing if you are able to guess correctly. And like in real life, if you guess wrong, you get burned.

moe, kobe and wang... sign up at our message board (link in 1st post) if you haven't already and introduce yourself. Take a look at the Madden 11 Owners thread and the teams that are potentially available as well.

Guys,
I think it is awesome that you are setting up a league! I am going to throw this out there for you to choose to use or not as I have given the guys in the Xbox 360 forum the same offer.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I would be more than happy to help you out.

-----------------------------
I just wanted to throw out an invite to my fellow AVS'ers.
I am the head of the Tactical Sports gaming community and we are opening up a Madden 11 Division. If you are interested in finding out more, follow the link below.

Clicking on the Tactical Gaming shield will give you info on the organization and the Sports and Warfare Shields are links to their respective communities.

http://tghq.org/

On the Sports side, we also have NHL, FIFA, Forza, UFC and now Madden!

So what is it? A site to discuss strategy and money plays?
More than just that. As you can see here we have active Rosters where each team practices together to improve their skill level. As you may see, Tactical Sports is still in a growing phase, but our sister franchise (Tactical Warfare) has been around since 2004 and has over 1700 active members. In other words, we are here to stay.

Often we have fun tournaments where teams play against each other for bragging rights, or even prizes sponsored by the community. Our teams range from casual gamers that are just looking for a fun online experience to the hardcore competitive gamer that competes in online ladders such as GameBattles or Fragged Nation.

More than all that is that we are an international community of gamers, we support multiple platforms, and support many different types of games. If next month you decide that Madden is not your cup of tea, you can switch over to the NHL/FIFA/Forza/UFC division and join one of their teams.

We are also looking at supporting other games in the future based on the interest level that our members show.

Did Madden 11 make any improvements to it's online franchise mode? A spectator mode would have been nice in Madden 10.
I believe you can play up to 3 vs. 3 online now.

Yes co-op 3v3 is in this version.
