I second that request. In case you need help with extracting a sample from the MKV file, please follow the guidelines in this post. It would be great if you could upload a 2 or 3 minute clip from the problematic file to Rapidshare or Megaupload or any other file hoster of your choice.

Just wondering if anybody has set up YAMJ and can give some advice.
I've installed Omertrons YAMJ on my pc and linked to my library on HDD in the Fusion but I can't access the index.htm in the Fusion to display in the browser.
I'm guessing it's maybe a matter of pathing in the browser address bar but I can't figure it, assuming of course that the YAMJ will run on the Fusion.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure why you thought YAMJ would work with the Fusion but it does not. Currently YAMJ only works with the PCH and ACRyan PlayOnHD

Thanks to those who offered to help but that is too complicated for me.

Thanks for your response.
I thought that YAMJ would work because it seems to simply use htm pages to reference movie data from the HDD.
If the browser could access the index.htm and call in disk data I'd expect it to be ok.
Anyway, I accept from you that it won't work, maybe you could briefly explain why not, I'd be interested to know. Many thanks

I don't know the exacts but I believe the xml/html files created are specific to the PCH, and the code with all the linking is specific to the PCH as well. For example, the Dune cannot read the index file either, so difference jukeboxes (such as Zappiti and yaDIS) as used. The developers for the Nixeus have acknowledged that they are looking into YAMJ

Yeah... currently the Fusion HD does not support it... it may have to do with the API source code specific to the PCHs...

Teddy,

I know that the Nixeus does not support TrueHD downmix to stereo. Has it been confirmed or can you test if Nixeus will downmix a BluRay with TrueHD? The reason I ask, TrueHD in BluRays (m2ts/ts) has an embedded AC3 track. The SageTV HD300 cannot downmix TrueHD, but for BluRays what it does is instead grab the embedded AC3 track which it can downmix. This won't work for mkvs as you cannot keep the TrueHD + embedded AC3 all in on track, but curious is Nixeus handles TrueHD BluRays the same way as the HD300.

One VERY,VERY vital item was missed off the changlog by Nixeus (I really don't understand why?) - If after installing this update , you cannot play dvd.iso files - you MUST do a "Factory Reset" (this will wipe all your settings such as wireless etc etc) , and then a FULL COLD (power plug out) reset.Your DVD.iso files will then play perfectly.

Teddy

Thanks for the info... yeah, that was why I e-mailed them why it didn't play my DVD.ISO files when the older firmwares did... they recommended to a "factory reset" and full cold reset - after that my DVD.ISOs played perfectly again....

From now on I'll just do this hard factory reset for every firmware update just in case...

Do you know when they will add flash support? Is it coming with YAMJ?

No...it is not coming in the next official firmware... from what they told me the engineers are still working on it...

According to Nixeus R&D Staff, Flash integration should be available for Beta Testing in November, and YAMJ before end of October. No ETA on Seamless Branching BluRay ISO yet as they are still researching.

There has also being talks to build a better Web Browser that will provide better quality, performance and features, it should also have the ability to install 3rd party SW as well. **Please note this is all preliminary, and won't be seen until end of year if integrated**

So stay tuned!

Finally had time play with with the new Firmware. I noticed now the built in web browser works with some BT sites (but not all, so its a hit and miss). Before BT wouldn't work at all with the built in web browser and had to load torrent files from either a network share server or through a USB thumb drive. Nice additional feature but does needs some improvement. ... I can play blu-Ray ISOs finally too... no menu otions at the moment... so is this what they call Blu-Ray Lite? What is Branching Blu-Ray ISO?

A seamless Branched BD is one that contains multiple versions of the main movie , a good example of this would be Terminator 2 - Skynet edition , this dvd contains TWO different versions of the main movie.Because of this , the main title is split among many dozens of .m2ts files as opposed to one large one for a "normal" dvd.At this time the Nixeus will not play a seamless branched BD , as its not good enough to detect this. But I hear that Nixeus are working very hard to try and get this working on ALL types of BD.

Nixeus R&D Engineer has informed me that there will be a lot of features and function that are going to be integrated onto the Fusion HD in the foreseable future -

1) YAMJ (Tentative schedule is to be around end of October)
2) Flash (Beta firmware should be around November)
3) Delete Function (Should be integrated after YAMJ)
4) Delete Copy/Delete Network Files (Same as #3)
5) Seamless BluRay Branching (Currently being research and observed, no tentative ETA)
6) Improved Web Browser (Better performance, compatibility and also supports 3rd party apps) this has been discussed and if performance and bug issues are not a cause of integration, then it should be availabe by end of year. Nixeus R&D are working on building a new Web Browser.

So as you can see there are a lot of new key functions and features that will be integrated along with improvements and any bug fixes there might be, to ensure product is stable.

Since the Nixeus cannot downmix TrueHD in an mkv you should suggest that if a secondary AC3 track is included in the mkv they should look into having the Nixeus automatically switch to that track (this is what SageTV is implementing with the HD300)
Dbone, definately I can pass that along. By chance do you have a sample file that has the secondary AC3 track?

Yup, every BluRay mkv I create has a secondary AC3 track. I will see if I can put together a sample for you and send over (either later today when I get home from work or tomorrow). I expect that Nixeus is not going to get the license to decode TrueHD for cost reasons, so doing this auto switching provides a nice compromise.

Does anybody have a problem with the cache not clearing on the latest firmware?
Specifically, Youtube vids continually playing the first file viewed even after a new one is selected.

Hi all, I just received my Nixeus yesterday and am already in love with it, at first I got some troubles trying to connect to my PC with SMB, it did not work, maybe because of windows 7, but UpNp is coming down fast and furious, so I am quite happy. There is another problem that I need help about, there are some of my movies that play without sound, the common sound format of these are AAC 6.1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
Pelench0 - do you have a sample file? or can you create a sample file?
Rocky - Will take a look and see if I find the same issue
post #418 of 557
Hi Guru, and thanks for your interest in my problem, but in fact i would not know how to make and example file, i just wanted to know if someone else had this issue, for instance i have a bunch of movies, must of them in DTS 6.1 and DD 5.1, all of them play perfect, but as i said before, some of them when you do the info bottom show AAC 6.1 sound format and do not work.
Pelench0 - will take a look at AAC 6.1 and see if it is in fact a incompatibility or not.

Maybe something simple, try altering the AAC setting in 'Audio Setup" to 'RAW'
