PowerDVD8 not playing DVD?

Hi all,

I bought a Samsung BluRay drive which came bundled with PowerDVD, had to do a couple of updates before I could play Bluray, but now it does not play DVD?

I am in UK, and set region code to B, but still no joy? Do I need Shark or K-Lite codec packs?
