Need final speaker recommendations!

Ok so am just about settled on some speakers for my new HT. I have about 6250 cubic feet to fill with sound . I started out focused on the Paradigm Studio 60s or 100s, with the Definitive Mythos STS or STSs.

After some great advice on the levels of speakers (pro/consumer) I came to the conclusion that no matter what amount I was prepared to spend for HT (audiophile) speakers, I would probably never reach the sound I was trying to produce without getting "pro" level speakers.

After much research and good directions, I found that a lot of the pro products aren't necessarily more expensive than consumer products but that the sensitivity and wattage was far higher. I currently have a B&K AVR707 that I have had for over 5yrs and a Mitsubishi Diamond Rear Projection that has gone through 3 moves and about 6 yrs that is a workhorse and looks very, very good still, I am actually amazed. I am replacing all of these, but my point is that I like quality, rock solid products, that can stay relevant for 5+ yrs.

That being said I have settled on 2 companies. JTR and JBL with JTR being my 1st choice so far. Budget not over $6k

Please give any suggestions on system so far, or my logic, questions below.

For JTR: http://jtrspeakers.com/

Fronts: Triple12HT @ $1400each x2 / 60hz-20khz / 101db / 1600watts RMS

Center: Triple8HT @ $1000each x 1/ 80hz-20khz / 98db / 1200watts RMS

Surrounds: Slanted8 @ $600each x 2 / 80hz-20khz / 95db / 300watts RMS

Sub: Not worried about them yet

For JBL: http://www.jblpro.com/
*notes 1st choice
I picked the channels to go into based on their classification, although I didn't understand it completely. They had most of their speakers with horns labeled as loudspeakers so I used these as fronts, and their others labeled as a screen channel, so I used those as centers, maybe i'm not right but the copy seemed to suggest this was correct.

Fronts:
*4722 @ $1102each x2 / 40Hz-19kHz / 104dB / LF:808w,HF:8w(bi)
3722 @ $794each x2 / 40Hz-18kHz / 104dB / 400watts
3732 @ $1622each x2 / 40Hz-19kHz / 103dB / LF:500w,HF:150w(bi)
4670D @ $1732each x2 / 40Hz-16kHz / 100dB / 600watts
3731 @ $1720each x2 / 40Hz-19kHz / 103dB / LF:600w,HF:150w(bi)

Center:
*3678 @ $1399each x1 / 45Hz-12kHz/ 98dB / 300W Passive
3677 @ $596each x1 / 45Hz-12kHz / 99dB / 250watts

Surrounds:
*8320 @ $331each x4 / 65Hz-18kHz / 94dB / 150watts RMS
8350 @ $734each x2 / 75 Hz-17 kHz / 99dB / 350watts
8340A @ $578each x2 / 75Hz-16kHz / 96dB / 250watts RMS

Sub: Not worried about them yet

So my questions are:
Overall, am I going in the right direction?
Any suggestions for different pairings?

JTRs
Are these good speakers?
At $5k does this sound like great value?
Will these speakers do the job with just 5.1?
If not, what else do you suggest?

JBL

A big thanks to all who contribute.

Both JTR and JBL (models listed) will provide a great HT experience. One thing that you should do though is buy three identical speakers for the front stage, not a different speaker for center. Rather than bi-amp the JBL's, I would buy the "N" version with the passive crossover.

You know I actually thought about that, and the reason I balked is because I wouldn't be able to get as nice R/L speakers without having to go cheaper all around to get to the same price point. If I got the same 3 for JTRs (Triple8HT) the sensitivity drops and the range narrows to something closer to a normal speaker. Maybe I am over symplifying or just do not completely understand so in your mind what keeps this model in the pro range?

I saw the N's why do you like those better? I thought biamping gave better performance?

First: As someone who biamps, I would say yes it does but... it's not 'necessary'. You can still get KILLER sound without it.

Second: I also use some pro cinema speakers so I know where you are coming from and applaude your revelation!!!

Third: I would suggest you listen to what I have but it would exceed your budget so, I'll vote for their little brothers.

Have you ever heard Klipschorns and/or LaScalas in a HT setup? With your budget you should be able to get 5 LaScalas and a possibly a sub and have some KILLER sound, all horn loaded.

(I'm a fan of horns and all of my speakers are horn loaded)

Good luck in your journey

I am not following you here. The JT8's are 98db sensitive. The are a lot higher than normal audiophile speakers.
