For the earlier upmixes they turned to Chace Audio, who specialize in separating sounds in existing mixes for stereo/surround remixing. I have the BDP-83 and I can get the menu to load on this disc but I can never seem to get it to load the actual movie. US or UK cut. It plays on my other Blu players, and also on my BH200 combo unit. Can anyone confirm that they do have it working in an Oppo 83?

Edit: Nevermind, its a Fox Blu-ray so I should have know that turning off BD-Live and clearing the persistent storage would fix the issue. Just thought I'd leave this here for anyone else having troubles.

Yeah, clearing the persistent storage is what did it. Idk, out of all the Blu-ray's I've had issues with I've had 4 problems playing discs. 1 was truly defective, and the other three were all Fox discs. 1 was fixed by an Oppo firmware update (500 Days of Summer) and the other two were fixed by turning off BDLive and clearing the persistent storage. This is issue 5 and it's running now that I cleared out the persistent storage with BDLive on.

I absolutely love the fact they are including the 4K scan/2k master from the OCN on the back of the packaging. I great indicator of how the film will look using the best elements and transfer techniques. I would love to see this trend continue.

I had some issues with the disc on the 60GB UK PS3. Kept getting black screen and nothing and massive loading times. I have tried deleting the cahce and it helps I can play the film, but when I select some of the extra features I get the black screen again and nothing else

Edit: After disabling the Internet on the PS3, the disc worked like a charm. The BD-Live on the disc seems to be at fault.

Ha! I THOUGHT something sounded different, wonky...


Found this after noticing it...


The people at Post Haste who mastered the audio were fortunate to have access to the original master tapes. However, a mistake was made in the new audio mix. In Over At The Frankenstein Place, they mistakenly used the wrong vocal take for Susan Sarandon's verse at the beginning, that's why it sounds so odd--it's a completely different take. Post Haste is aware of the flub, but there's no news of anything being done to correct it at this time.

Also really bummed that more of the original extras weren't included.

In addition to the wrong Susan Sarandon vocal track, the 7.1 remix ruins the harmonies of the song.
A/B the 7.1 mix and the 2.0 original on the disc and you'll see. The original harmonies are much better.

The disc looks awesome, though...

I got the UK disc today, tried selecting the midnight experience track and it does nothing, it's just a black screen. I am playing it in a ps3 slim

Me too !!
Same problem here.

I have a Pioneer BD320 and the PS3 and on both players,when i choose the "Midnight Experience" I get a black screen and nothing happens.

Can anyone PLEASE help me ???

Does it play normally on your players?

I'm getting really crazy about this problem.
