I thought it was great brain-less fun, just what I expected from a summer blockbuster
I am a fan of Joe's movies and this didn't change my mind at all

I admit that I had a lot of fun, too, but I felt that they kind of disrespected the show's original "wholesome" nature. What I loved about the show was the incorruptible nature of team: honor and justice above all else, even their own self-interests.

Not only was the movie hyper-sexualized, but it seemed to be more of a revenge tale rather than a story about protecting the innocent or even clearing their names. I understand modernizing the story and origins, but I didn't like how they changed the drive and focus of the characters.

I would gladly show my kids the classic TV show, but I would not let them watch this until they were much, much older... 26 years old.

Unfortunately, despite my enjoyment of the movie, I recall many of the special effects looking sub-par and I fear that they may stand out even more on "the small screen". Aside from that, I'm sure that the transfer will look excellent, but I'll probably wait for this one to hit the $15 and under bin.

That was just the set up for the origin, sequels will most likely be more of the problem solving Oceans/M:I style impossible tasks

I guess that's my point.

The original A-Team was hunted for a crime they didn't commit and they went on to prove that they were the type of men who would never do such a thing.

The movie A-Team was hunted for a crime they didn't commit and they went on to prove that they were the type of men who would do such a thing. I didn't count, but I'd wager that they killed more people trying to prove their innocence than the original offense.

Don't get me wrong, I still liked the movie and a few moments took me back to the 80s, but it irks me that they changed the character of the team.

In spite of a subpar, scratched print and having to sit too close at the theater, my family really enjoyed this movie so it'll be a buy for us. Not sure if our seating position was playing tricks with our perception of the soundtrack, but didn't the guns sound great? Looking forward to confirming it in the home theater.

I thought it sounded great, the sky scraper heist and the car park when he shoots the glass sounded great.
When he pulls his side arm it was muted like the beretta in the shopping mall hallway in T2, that would be a stylistic thing tho

The TV A-Team didn't kill due to network tv restrictions, and as it was made to appeal to the kids

Theres apparently going to be an extended version on Knight & Day as well. Fox seems to be going wild with extended cuts lately. I really enjoyed the Date Night extended cut for example.

Definitely looking forward to this

Knight & Day needs to be erased from existence, not extended.

The A-Team was good right up until that ridiculously overblown action scene at the end.

Oh, come on now. The show was the way it was because that's the way they made it.

The 80's wasn't the Leave it to Beaver era of TV.

Further, just because it was on at 8PM, doesn't mean people couldn't get killed in the show. "V" was on at 8PM and had plenty of deaths, along with aliens eating mice...and harvesting humans for food. The show might seem silly now, but back then it was pretty stunning when people started tearing their faces off.

Even the pilot for Knight Rider started out quite dark with Michael Long getting shot in the face before becoming Michael Knight.

Don't forget, the 80's also brought us the first truly serious police drama in "Hill Street Blues", where gang activity was profiled as never before and two officers were gunned down in the very first episode.

Not every show was ChiPs, The Love Boat or The Dukes of Hazzard.

I stand by my comment.
I thought I was going to see Padme and Anakin start ducking and diving trying to dodge the OTT carnage!

Just go into it looking for a great time. There is no "bad acting" in it. No "Padme/Anakin" extremes. Yes, it's a bit cheesy but only because it doesn't take itself too seriously.

IMHO, best movie of the summer.
