Purchased a Wii for my 5 year old son a few weeks ago and recently bought the Monoprice component cable for it (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10830&cs_id=1083007&p_id=5638&seq=1&format=2
With the standard composite cable the Wii comes with, I simply hook up the yellow video cable to the VCR video input on the back and the red/white RCA audio cables into the red/white VCR analog audio inputs. All is fine.
But when I try to hook up the component cable, I get no audio. I've tried connecting the component cable into both the BD and VCR component inputs, and the red/white audio cable into the BD and VCR audio in's, but while I get video just fine I get no audio.
I don't see a setting anywhere to adjust the analog audio inputs in the setting menu? Am I missing something?
Just to reiterate, after swapping from the composite to component, I go into the Input menu to ensure that the appropriate Component In is selected and once done the video works. But the audio is just not working period.
I'm thinking it might be the cable, but wanted to check if maybe there was something I was forgetting to do on the audio side?
