The stock remote is ~$70 USD, plus shipping.
I hardly ever used mine since I use a URC, but I noticed mine had issues right from the get go. I didn't worry about it since the warranty was 3 years, PARTS and labor. When I called to inquire about getting it fixed or swapped, just before the 3-year expiration date, they took my name, address, telephone number, email [and put me on both a D&M mailing list and Boston Acoustics, which I never wanted to be put on], had me read them the serial number from the back of my main unit [luckily my rack moves], and email them an electronic document version of my original store receipt showing I bought it from an authorized dealer and was still under the three year period. Makes sense right? Well after going through all that they called back to say, "Sorry you AREN'T covered. The remote warranty isn't as long as the main unit." [Yet oddly they couldn't state how long its warranty is.]
There is no mention the 3 year warranty doesn't cover the remote, in any of the literature that came with the unit, nor is there any Marantz website that they could point me to, which states this. If you ask me, that's slimy, and I don't appreciate the rigmarole they put me through before finally saying "No".
