Antitrust complaint at the FTC about 3D content on BD - Page 2

I was trying to point out that the games would be available to sale. You would not have to keep buying consoles to play it. You would already have the console. For example: I already have an XBox 360. If they decide to bundle a game with the XBox with purchase now, I can still buy that game on its on and not have to buy another XBox just to get the game.

This is a stupid thread title--As I noted before, this forum has no competence in what is unlawful under the antitrust laws. I have enough to know that the FTC could prevent these exclusive BD deals; and if the consensus supported my filing a complaint, I would. But, it wasn't, so I went sailing instead (and it was a glorious day--so I'm not unhappy). All this jibber-jabber about antitrust legality, is an utter waste of time.

And as I noted before, the original one was too vague, and you could feel free to suggest another one and I would fix it. That has not happened.

To say that a title addressing an "antitrust complaint at the FTC about 3D content" is too vague, is disingenuous (I'm sure you can't cite anything comparable); if you honestly wanted more info in the title you could have simply added the question from the title you deleted. So I'm not going to get into a title battle with you. It's a moot point anyway; so why don't you just delete the thread.

Remember the exclusive THX trailer DVD giveaways from CES years ago? They were never made available to the general public. I have one of the DTS made exclusive DVDs in my collection. I also have one of the rare CD-Gs that has about 3 or 4 minutes of video from T2 on it. It too was a giveaway.

We know the current exclusives will be made available to the public at some time in the future.

IMO . . . this "I want it now - not later" attitude will be looked upon as nothing more than a lack of patience.

Lee - speaking of "patience" have you been able to hold off your previously projected purchase of a Panasonic TC-P58 or P65 VT25 3D TV as intended?

Just waiting for the Avatar 3D BD giveaway. I would really like to have that movie in 3D and I assume prices will be their best during the Q4 shopping season.

I am using my patience not to buy now and have to wait till "some time in 2011" to own Avatar in 3D.

If I bought now, then my patience time period would be much longer to the point of owning Avatar on 3D BD.

And no - I will not pay the highway robbery prices that Ebay is getting on exclusive titles. I just lifted up my shirt and gave my skin a squeeze . . . . nope - just like I thought - I am NOT made of money.

You are confused.

Your original title was, and I quote: "Antitrust complaint at the FTC". All I did was add " - Are exclusive 3D BD demo releases legal?" to the end of your title.

By the way, demo releases can refer to full length features, as opposed to just partial cuts from content.

Title edited again.....

I think the OP should have titled the thread "Should I file an Antitrust complaint with the FTC over Blu-ray 3D Bundles?"

Yes, that would have been better yet.
