Aton DLA-4/DLA-6

Thread Starter
I am looking at putting a whole home audio system in my house (not new construction). I am really leaning towards the Aton DLA4 or 6. I like the RF remote extender. I would have on/off and volume controls. I would not have to run any wire for wall controls....just put speakers in the ceiling (I have attic access). I was looking for feedback from those who might have this system. Somewhat on the expensive side but perfect for what I need. Thanks...and if anyone knows of something comparable for less money let me know.

do a search as there are a couple threads already with people's experiences. my friend installed one in his place and its excellent from what i could hear and what he tells me.

This may be the best solution for my conundrum. Any newer competing products?

I didn't realize the DLA could be used with IR control, too. I found this document enlightening. IP->IR could be used to control volume, with these DLA units.

Yep, there's just no front-panel IR receiver, so you need to provide your own IR signal. Be aware that to use the popular iTach or GC-100 IP to IR gateways, those products will require the "Xantech compatibility cable" to work with the Aton gear... But Aton has discrete zone codes so everything can be controlled that way...

OP - I haven't seen anything newer or better than the DLA for this application.
