I'm far more interested in HDbaseT.
I know it uses the hdmi1.4 protocols, but it offers SO much more.
At this point I will NOT be concerned with upgrading to hdmi1.4.
I will wait and see how HDbaseT takes off because I find it a far better long term solution.
I especially like HDbaseT's ability to provide up to 100 watts of power, leaving only ONE cable necessary for many displays. I've been wondering for years why we cant have just a single cable for most things.
also 100 meter cable length, cheap and easy cable and rj-45 connectors, possibly gigabit ethernet and usb support:http://www.hdbaset.org/files/HDBaseT...ble_Nereus.pdf
makes hdmi1.4 seem like a one trick pony.
