On my decade old Sony you know how i did this? Turn the ****A/B button to "B". Done.
Yes, the manual is bad. But the zones are a lot more flexible than an A/B button that just switches one source to two sets of speakers. They assume you might want to play something different in zone 2 than is playing in the main zone (and that's also when you find the analog limitation for zone 2).
But Party Mode does give you an easy way to get something going in the other zones, and it doesn't have the analog limitation because it just duplicates the same signal to all zones that join the party.
