I have looked into Emotiva XPA-2 or XPA-3 as an external amp to help drive the front channels for music. Has anyone used any of these amps and will it be a wise investment?
I am also considering the a2010 if I can sell the a1000, would this be a better option.
My personal experience, having both the A1000 and the emo XPA3, is that the power amp did not provide a significant benefit. This is just with my speakers (monitor audio 89db).
I am getting familiar with REW, and probably will consider room treatment, before trying to improve SQ by changing / adding any more components.
In this context, moving my LR speakers further away from the wall made a nice improvement on SQ - much bigger than introducing the Emo I'd say.
